I've noticed lately that after posting a comment, 8 times out 10 it doesn't seem to post. It will usually post after submitting a second time, but it makes me wonder how many comments I made never got posted without my realizing it.

My immediate thought is that it could be a cookie problem. I'd say delete your cookies, log in again and see if that helps...

For submitting a comment you need a fresh session, i.e. if you have been inactive for a few minutes your comment will not be seen at the first attempt. For this reason I always copy to the mouse buffer what was written by me and check afterwards...

I do believe Andreas is right. Sometimes when you are inactive for a period, it doesn't take. Happens sometimes when replying in threads, as well. I never heard the term 'mouse buffer' but I believe 'select and copy' is what he is saying :D Definitely a good idea.

lol a mouse buffer ... thats a good one smile highlight what you have written, then right click to copy and paste it into the temp memory or your computer it also happens when ya have a long story when your uploading a design, first write the story, then add the design what ya wanna upload, if you do it the other way around, it will come with a server error or something

If you work e.g. with Emacs as text editor you have two temp memories (i.e. buffers), one is associated with the mouse, the other with a certain key combination :-)

I too believe that what Andreas said is probably the cause of my trouble. I often browse the gallery and such open several different windows before commenting. Therefor they remain idle for a period of time. After noticing the lack of posting when submitting I had taken to copying my comments for just that purpose. I'll try a refresh before commenting as well. Thank you for all your help :) ~Terry

A quick way for using your mouse buffer is: highlight the text you want to copy, do a CTRL-C (Keep the CTRL button pressed while pressing C) and to paste the text do a CTRL-V... Pieter

The best thing to do is to write in notepad, then transfer it to the comment window. Don't close the notepad until you are sure the comment has been accepted.

Why would you want to use notepad? Write your comment in the comment window, use the trick I described above, and when it's not sending paste the text again with CTRL-V... Pieter

I just use notepad for my uploads and replies, I guess it's just habit.
