Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 13 11:02 am)
Have you tried "Export Image"? I'm not sure if that option is in Poser 4 or PP, since I don't use them, but in Poser 5, the option should be in the file menu. Make sure, though, when you use "Export Image", that your image is still rendered. hth! MS

into a fruit salad.
I find that I get that option after a render if I have rendered in the pose window. It then asks me to save the .pz3 file first, and then it allows me to save the .png/.tif/.jpg image. I always render in a separate window (same size as my pose window 800 x 800) now. I always save the .pz3 before rendering anyway, this way I don't get asked to save it again after the render.

Gosh, I don't know. I use Poser 5. In Poser 5 you make those choices in your Render options window. It allows you to change the size of the render window and either have it render as a separate window, or render in the existing pose window.

Ok, finally got it straight. For those of you that may not know for Poser 6, (Actually the first version I have ever used YIKES)to save what you have rendered you DO go to Export and then click on Image and it allows you to save as a JPEG. I do have more questions but I will give you all a breather LOL Thanks for all your help!!
And not just as a jpeg. You can also save it as a .bmp, a .tiff, a .png, a photoshop .psd, and a couple others I'm not familiar with. PS, when you save a jpeg, make sure you use the quality you want, the bigger the number, the better the quality. I like 90 to 95, but if you are pressed for hard disk space you can go lower.
This is one of my pet peeves. P6 changed a simple task into a complex task. Why CL changed the way to save pictures in P6 from the way P5(or P4 or P3 or P2) did it, and made it more difficult to boot is beyond me. Sure its probably mentioned in the manual. Sure we can figure it out with a little trial and error. I do it the same way Opera does it. (oops I was about to launch into an all out rip on P6 and completely off-topic :-o I'd better stop before I get all riled up about P6.
i've come to really like the way P6 saves your string of renders and allows you to compare them by choosing from two lists and then scrubbing and changing from one to another. The way I used to work was no easier (and did not feature the comparision), namely render to a new window and then either close/save or right click and save as. Also, continuing what Fazzel said, you can save as TIFF and PNG which are lossless, and contain an alpha channel. This is very usefull and important. Hurray to Poser6 render saving. ::::: Opera :::::

I am slowly and painfully trying to learn poser and have run into yet another snag. Once I render the figure I have attempted to make and tried to save it, the only option I am given is to save it as a Poser file. What do I need to do to be able to save it as a JPEG? Thanks sooooo much for your help!! :)
