I know that you get a sort of 'real-time' view out of Deep Paint, but it's VERY resource heavy (at least on my machine, which I'll definitely say is not a good one, LOL). It's good for texture making, but it's got a steep learning curve ;) I've only tried the demo, because my system just doesn't like it.Sitemail | Freestuff | Craftythings | Youtube|

into a fruit salad.
Or you can try Prop Viewer by kawecki (in Freestuff section). I use it quite often, since it's much lighter on the system than Poser, especially with graphic program already launched. You have to reload texture manually every time, but it's good for quick check. Unfortunately there's no zoom option :(

There is also BodyPaint3D by MAXON. I think you are asking alot! In order to transport information from PSP or PS while editing to another application will require a constant Clipboard update - something that I'm pretty sure isn't available in either. Unless someone writes plugins for PSP/PS and Poser that seamlessly interact to this end, it may be a cold day in Hades before such a thing is possible. Note that both BodyPaint3D and DeepPaint edit the texture directly in the application with the geometry present.

I should like to add that it would be great to have a less powerful application just for this purpose. Both BodyPaint3D and DeepPaint are UV mapping/texturing applications. Since Poser figures are already UV mapped, for interactive painting, this should reduce the complexity of the application greatly. What you are looking for is a 3D object paint program to create your textures. Does one exist? Let's see... :)

Have you looked at Tatoo? It's free for non-commercial use. I use BodyPaint, so I haven't ever really tried it. But it might be worth looking into.__________________________________________________________

Damn I am going to have to take Canoma for a spin :) Edited to add that I also use Painter3d by Metacreations to paint when I do not use a 2d painter. I do believe that from my demo's of right hemispheres deep paint that this is the latest incarnation of Painter3d but I could be wrong, they seem to be about the same program with teh newer one of course being a lot more powerful

Well Canoma isn't really what you are looking for to make textures for Poser people. I was only using that as an example in my discussion about the coding I found in Poser.Tattoo is very low end and is good for only simple props.
Deep Paint is VERY expensive, and resource hungry (crashes a lot).
There is one more option, and that is Maxons stand alone Body Paint.
It is not cheap but compared to Deep Paint its a bargain (I believe around $700.00).
You do get a lot for your money though.
You get an excellent 3D paint/texture program (also uses Photoshop filters).
A VERY sophisticated built-in UV mapping program.
And the standard Cinema4d render engine, cameras, lights and materials options (VERY nice!).
There are free plugins that allow you to bring in complete Poser scenes with textures and ready to render.
It will take any modules, plugins or shaders made for Cinema like Advanced Render where you get radiosity, SSS and true HDRI.
In other words its just like the complete Cinema4d Studio bundle without the modeling and animation features.
They do have a demo to try.
Here is a link where some of us were chewing the fat about 3D paint programs.

I guess you know you don't have to "reload map every few minutes", just save it in Photoshop and have Poser re-render, which will update the preview, too. You can even set it to render to a tiny little window to speed things up. Not what you want but better than nothing. I looked at this same thing awile ago, and coudn't finfd anything at the price I wanted to spend. Poser 4 used to come with a program (whoes name excapes me) that did EXACTLY what you want, for free, but it will not run on newer systems.

doesnt matter if i use poser, or another program but basicly i want a model in a 3d window, like poser the texture map is applied to it, and it shows like a quick preview of the texture on the model then a 2nd window, have the basic setup from a paint program like psp or photoshop or something basicly and while pixels are painted, it updates the picture in the 3d window (realtime update) example, painting a beard texture map for a face while having a 3d view of it in use probably need a 3rd app to watch ram as poser and psp run? then edit poser loaded maps as the maps in psp get edited (i have 3 monitors, so poser/psp up isa workable) or is there another app to do it all in 1? as long as it can load the mesh and use same texture maps as poser, would work fine
