I don't know what your level of experience with Bryce is, but here's one way for water. This is a plane, with the preset for "nice water" with a bump map from a cloud texture substituted for the original bump (inset). Cloud bumps add a nice non-repeating wave effect, I think. Also shown here in a red bracket at the top is the icon for making random skies. Some will be very weird, but you might find something close to what you might like, and then tweak it until it pleases you. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Another way is to create a terrain, go into the terrain editor, increase the resolution to 512 or above, and use the "slick rock" fractal or one of the others to make your waves. Then manipulate the height and texture and placement of the terrain until it looks the way you want. I used the same texture here as in the first image. Hope this helps, John

Making realistic skies is wonderfully easy in Bryce! Check out this old mini-tut I made awhile back...

Thanks LSD, Unfortunately I just took a look outside the front door and there's the blandest, most boring, flat sky out there you ever did see! And I wanted to use the new, super-duper camera!!! (sniffle) It'll have to wait until there's some sun and clouds, instead of just this blank sheet. (Yes, I know there are skies out there on the net, but I wanted to play!!!) Aye, I'm with you on that... 'Net skies are cool and all, but there's something VERY satisfying about using a sky that you actually SAW, in reality! Now if I could just break down and make some more of those sweet 360-panorama skymaps... Alas, tripods bore me to tears...
