Hello all & hope your weekend is a greate and creative one. I am new to Fractal and would love to learn how to use Apophysis but needing help to get started. Would some of you please read below and providesome feed back? I am ready to start working with Apophysis but needing much help to get started. I would like you to look at the following link and give me a few pointers on installing ok? http://www.apophysis.org/downloads.html At this link you will not only find the dl for Apo 2.02 but a few other items for Apophysis as well. The problem I am having is this: 1, Exactly what is Apophysis 2.0 Delphi Source Code , Apophysis 1.01 (including source code) , & ApoMap Palette Editor , for and how do I install them. What I mean by how do I install them is this: Do I unzip and install in the Apophysis program file or do I install as separate software programs? Also I have found quite a few add-on's in Rendersoties & 3DC's freebee galleries and would like to know where to install them as well. I am sorry for taking you away from your own art work but its just the way I am... Once I have someone get me started I can pretty much take it from there but its the getting started part that I always get stuck at...lol Thanks for your help Elliot

Apophysis 1.01 is a plug-in for UltraFractal 3.x. If you don't have UF, don't download it. You will only need the Delphi Source code if you are a programmer, and Apomap is a gradient generator that you will not need right away because there are plenty of premade gradients out there for use. So, my advice is to simply install Apophysis 2.02. After you install them in your 'Program Files' folder (that's the default choice) you can make subfolders for Scripts and Gradients and that's where you should put those items. Then do a search on this forum for Apo Tutorials, or look on the Community page. You should find plenty of them! Have fun, but please don't forget to eat and sleep occasionally...Apo is incredibly addictive.

Fractals will always amaze me!

You might want to join the mailing list. Apo 1.01 will also work without Ultra Fractal.

I would recommend just starting with Apophysis 2.02, then as you become more familiar with the program you will understand more about the other programs and about using the add-ons and freebies.

There are some good tutorials around to get you started.

From the Fractal Forum homepage:

Another list of good tutorials:

The above link is also a good forum for Apophysis help. I get the impression that the folks there are primarily Apo users and they are very nice and quick to help you with any questions you might have.

And as you look at the fractal gallery and see work done in Apophysis that you like, PM the artist. Most are pretty helpful with how they do what they do.
