Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 26 1:43 pm)
Just checking here....with the Daz inj morphs (the whole system I have never liked for some odd reason) you have the !Daz folder in your main Runtime - Libraries folder and not elsewhere? I know I had some issues getting Vicky to work right and it was just the !Daz folder wasn't in the right spot so it couldn't call on the info it needed.
Crazy alien chick FTW! (yeah....right....)

Paulotin,
I haven't used the INJ stuff, so I can't really help you there. But I did notice something that maybe you aren't aware of, and who knows, maybe it is related, either way, it will help anyone who isn't aware.
When you want to replace James with another figure, the best way to do it is not to just open your new figure over James. I saw this in a thread, and started doing it, and it has helped me a lot. You should delete James in the scene, then open the figure.
Seems if you simply replace him, he leaves behind remnants of himself that skew everything you do from that point on. I hope this is where your problem is coming from, but even if not, hopefully it will help someone else as much as it has for me.

Is that the "V3 New Generation 2005" one from Daz found here?
http://www.daz3d.com/shop.php?op=itemdetails&item=2968
If so, that's the problem. That latest version of Vicky doesn't have morph channels and won't let you use the Character Addons.
Get the base, which is FREE:
http://www.daz3d.com/shop.php?op=itemdetails&item=1098
Install the V3 base, the V3 head morph, the V3 body morph.
Open Poser. Delete the figure in the pose window. Find the Victoria 3 Vicky in your Figures library. Load the Victoria 3 Vicky. Go to the Poses folder. Find your Character addon that you want to use. Click the INJ body, and the INJ head, and then the MAT. It should work.

Thanks you all for the replies about the INJ morphs, and also about James. Still, no luck with loading my character "tawnie" morhps. Strange. Is it normal for poser to promt you into locating the INJs? And, once V3 is loade, does one proceed into loading a characters INJs staringht away or do I need to do something beforehand??? Paulotin
No, you shouldn't be directed to locate the INJ files.
Are you installing the V3 base, the V3 head, the V3 body to the Curious Labs/Poser 5 folder?
If you are using "external runtimes", then you need to go to the Libraries folder of that external runtime and COPY the !DAZ folder to the Curious Labs/Poser 5/Runtime/Libraries folder. Don't move it, just copy/paste it. If you aren't using "external runtimes", and just installing to the default Poser 5 folders, you don't need to worry about doing this.
Also, did you see my reply that I made just before yours?

I think I did get the V3 base a while back, the free one. Still, I'm going to get the base again and install it again, see what happens.
I got the V3headbody morph installed yesterday. I'll also take a look at the "runtimes. By the way, I've got P6.
Thanks,
Paulotin.

I don't know where you got that idea from Acadia but I use V3 SAE with all sorts of different character packages and it morphs with no problem at all. I have something like a dozen different character packages that I use on V3 SAE version. A quick double click on the character inject and there she is!! thefixer poser coordinator

I was reading up on the differences and read here and at DAZ, that the newest generation of Vicky 2005 lacks morph channels so the morph INJ from the character addons don't work with that version of Vicky.

My version of my V3 SAE works very well with all the character packs that I have. Also why would DAZ themselves sell the "3D celebrity models" such as Mandy and Trixie, which are character injects if they weren't going to work!
Sorry it doesn't make sense, and I own V3 SAE and both Mandy and Trixie and both work!
I think you need to check which version, what you're reading refers to because it can't possibly be SAE.

When purchasing the Daz's V3 headBody morph packs and the downloads are ready to be downloaded I got 4 files with the exact same name to be downloaded, well two of them ended in EXE and the other two in SIT. I assumed I had only to download one of them. I'm beggining to suspect maybe I had to download the other ones aswell and that my morph package was incomplete. Does anybody know exactly how many files this package might contain? Poser ignorant, among others things... Paulotin
Ok SIT files are for MAC users and EXE are for Windows, you only need to download the versions you need for your system whatever that might be. What you should have is the V3 base which is now free and also the V3 head morph pack and the V3 body morph pack. You just need to double click on the DAZ exe file and the DAZ installer will do the rest for you. It will even find the target application i.e. Poser5 for you and all you need to do is confrim the location. When in Poser, load up V3 base from "character" library and then go to your "pose" library where you should find the Inject poses. Select your V3 figure [it has to be selected] and then double click on the inject pose files that you want to use. You should see them in the parameter dials. Be carefull though because there is a glitch in P5 and this is it: If you have selected the Head and then used inject poses for the head, you won't see them until you select another part of the body and then go back to the head. It's a glitch that can be confusing if you don't know about it. "phew" Let me know how you get on! thefixer poser coordinator.

Paulotin, I should have said also that once your V3 character is selected then double clicking the "tawny" character inject pose should work with no problems. I'm assuming you unzipped your "tawny" inject poses into the right place. thefixer poser coordinator

I just noticed you have P6 so all that stuff above is a bit different. The DAZ installer won't see P6 so you need to do it manually and I suspect that your problem lies if you've installed the DAZ folder in "downloads" instead of the main runtime folder. Make sure you have the DAZ folder installed in the main runtime and not the "download" part. thefixer poser coordinator.

Ah Acadia that's not the SAE version, I've not used that New Gen one so I'll bow to your superior knowledge on that one. If what you say is right then there seems little point in buying that version if you can't use character injects. Just my opinion though! Thanx for the heads up! thefixer poser coordinator

I haven't either. I was thinking of getting it, but decided not to if I couldn't use my character addons. I think plain vicky is rather homely and cross-eyed, and I am not good at making pretty faces with dials yet, so I depend on character addons to do that for me.

Everyone, I wish I could buy averybody a drink at this time. I GOT IT WORKING, haleluia. I can't belive it, and for such a stupid mistake {shameful). I hadn't installed the head morphs. I had dismissed it as being a copy of the body.exe, download attempts. I want to slap myself a bit...well, just a bit. Thank you all very much for your help, I really appreciated. By the way, The exe was installed automatically into P6, no problem, and I've got hte SAE version aswell. I hope I'll have some renders to share with you all soon. Take care, Paulotin

Unfortunaly, the potential problem of not having V3s heads morphs packs causing that perpetual resistance onto loading my character "Tawnie's" heand&body INJs proved to be mistaken. I HAVE DAZ's head&Body morph package installed.
Still, Tawnie's INJs wont load causing ,now cronically, my Poser 6 to freeze in the agonizing attempt.
I'm sure I'm doing something wrong and that I'm missing a crucial step of two in the whole process of changing that V3 base body into Tawnie's body.
I therefore include here a step by step account of my actions while trying to go about this, now humongous, task (the critical step not allowing me to become a full fledged Poser fanatic, alas...)
Sorry for the lengthly explanation.
I load poser - "I then change the default JamesCasual figure into V3 base. I click on" - FIGURES - DAZ PEOPLE - Victoria 3 SAE -.
"After that, I proceed to into trying to load the INJs. I go to" - POSES - TAWNIE RENEWAL - TAWNIE HEAD&BODY INJ-
Here, Poser promts me into locating the missins file. It says... - "Please locate"INJDeltas.HD.African.PZ2" -
The problem is that I can't find that particular PZ2 file anywhere in the poser directory, I've looked everywhere. What's more, a few seconds into promting me, the document window with V3 goes blank(gray), V3 disappears, while I'm trying in vain to find the holy grail.
I've tried to click on numerous other PNZs in both Tawnie's and DAZ's folders, nothing. In the end, poser says "Warning...It can't find the above file and it freezes, letting me resort to Ctrl-Alt-Delete just to get out of there.
I've also tryied going to" -POSES - SP ALL MORPHS INJ- and -SP FULL BODY INJ-, thinking that I might have to load these before attemting my characters INJs, but the same happens in the end.
Again it would mean worlds to me If I could get around this and start doing some artistically with poser as so many in the community arte doing. Great tool, great people, great art. Thank you
Paulotin
