A lot of textures have those lines before they're rendered. As long as they're not there after it's rendered than it's ok.
When they are tested, we never let on thru if the seams show after it's rendered.

Poser in preview mode scale down the textures to the size of the working window. Due to this small size there is a loss of precission of the textures and parts of the body that are not continuous in the texture image (hands, body/head, front/back) shows discontinuity in preview mode.
For rendering the textures are used at its full resolution.

"Due to this small size there is a loss of precission of the textures" My guess is that the reduction process causes each new reduced-scale pixel to be logically OR'd (averaged) from a number of surrounding pixels. The large size reduction would mean this was a significant number of pixels per sample. So near the edge of the texture the OR process will include in a number of pixels from outside of the true texture area. If these extra pixels are a totally different colour - eg. white - the pixels around the edge will have an (increasing) amount of the incorrect colour - white - blended in. Hence the apperance of a gap in the seam, but reality a dilution of the colouring. If texture makers would darken the area surrounding the outline, this effect would probably not be so noticable.
So long as the seams don't show up in a render......seeing seams in a preview is basically meaningless to me.
Have you contacted the merchant about the problems and asked them? If you didn't, you should. Coming here to post a grievance like you have and claiming "rip off" shouldn't be your first course of action. A few weeks back I had trouble with something I bought. Part of it was my fault for not having combed the merchant's store and reading the fine print, but there was also a case of misrepresentation involved, because even when I did all that the merchant said I needed to do (by way of acquiring files), I still didn't have what I needed to recreate their promos and it wasn't made clear that certain items weren't included. In addition their thumbnail for that item was grossly misleading as to the content of the package. Anyway, I contacted the merchant and essentially was told to suck it up and told that it's not their fault that I thought something different. Anyway, the store rectified the situation and spoke with the merchant about the shabby way I was treated. You need to give the merchant the benefit of the doubt. It might be the textures, or it might not be. However, before claiming rip off, you need to investigate whether the error in appearance is due to something you are or are not doing.

The manual is pointless. It's riddled with errors. It's a lesson in higher mathematics going on and on about sine and cosine. It's more about how to build a program than how to work one. Plus it leaps all over the place instead of concentrating information about one room or task in one area. By the time you find what you were looking up, you forgot what it was because it's taken you from chapter 2 to chapter 3 to chapter 22 back to chapter 5. The most stupid manual I've ever laid eyes on, and yes, I did read the manual, but it was of zero help because it was way to technical and didn't even go into how to apply textures as we know them from packages we buy for various figures such as V3 etc.

Who reads a manual anymore this day and age?! And most of the time they are in some other language or we can't understand them anyways and they confuse more than help, giggle! My concern here would be what if this person did not wish to create only rendered pictures, perhaps they are using poser for some faster, quicker, other purpose or method, and wanted textures to appear in a non rendered state without bracelets? Acadia, mind if I borrow that comb sometime if you have it? "Part of it was my fault for not having combed the merchant's store.." Would have to be one heck of a big comb, just what I need for my off the wall hairdo! LOL!!
When I started using Poser I read the manual. So I know from experience that it answers a lot of really basic questions. The manual only falls apart when you try to do the more complicated stuff. I think it's over-the-top for somebody to post a thread about possibly being ripped off when they haven't bothered to understand even the most fundamental things that the program does. I repeat: read the manual.
TRY to read the manual. At least once. If nothing else, it can be a great cure for insomnia! Reading engineering specs might help, too.
All the DAZ templated used to say something like "Don't color outside the lines" (they still might). Meaningless advice, that if followed gets you white lines. Not the texure makers fault, nor does it really hurt anything. On the other hand, you think they (the texture makers) might have noticed and figured this part out, not exactly rocket science. ;-)
