i just wanted to share some exciting news! Kemal got an email about a month ago from the owners of Silo (the software he uses to do his modelling). Anyway, he had posted some images in their forum that caught their attention, and they asked him if they could feature 4 of them on their homepage in a gallery!!! i've attached the link so you can see. On the 1st page, his is the 1st image. On the 2nd page of the gallery, his is the alarm clock in the 2nd row. In the last row, his are the last 2 images (bedroom scene & high heels). just had to share and brag on my honey!!!!!! believe it or not, there is a photography aspect to this!! kemal takes TONS of photos too! we always take pictures together on our days off. he uses his pictures and makes textures out of them for his 3D art. and he also uses them for ideas and inspiration in his artwork! :) Thanks for sharing in my joy and excitement for him!!!! :) Now we're off to take pictures!!!!

Tell KERNAL that he's got some impressive 3d images there! The lighting and textures are TOP NOTCH! Love the reflection maps on the clock! Oh no...3d lingo...I'm being pulled to the OTHER side...Must load Cinema 4d... Seriously... as I dabble in 3d myself a bit, I know first hand what goes into making these rendered images! Its ALOT of Work and patience. Sheila's ABSOLUTELY right about 3d and photography! 3d artists STRIVE for REALISM and use photos to get REAL WORLD textures and images to base their work on! Also many 3d apps have "virtual cameras" that can be placed anywhere in a scene! Having photography knowledge really can help when creating images with depth of field and whatnot! Diffent camera setting affect the look of the image! Hey Sheila... Kernal should get some kinda of discount on the next upgrade of SILO...maybe even get it for FREE or something! They ARE using his images for advertising! L8r! Joe

Great images. I am a 3Der, though lately my photography has dominated my time. I teach a class "Intro to 3D Modeling" at http://www.eclecticacademy.com/ So I know the amount of work that goes into creating such fine images. Congrats!!

Thank you guys for a nice words, I realy appreciate it, summer is getting close, so expect my stuff in photo galleries as well, cheers ! :D

THANKS guys for your sweet words! Cindy, yes...those images are all in his gallery. No, those aren't our apartments and not my shoes. :( kemal bought me some high heels several years ago that are similar though. In the bedroom scene, the picture on the wall is actually a photo that kemal took. the cat on the dresser...that's on his desk now. Wednesday is his "texture day." When we go out taking pictures, his emphasis that day is on obtaining photos he can use for textures in his 3D art. Joe, you're absolutely right! those REAL WORLD textures make a huge difference in achieving REALISM in 3D artwork! And what you said about knowledge of DOF, lighting...so true! Kemal studies all that...for both photography and 3D! Yes, those virtual cameras you're talking about that are in 3D apps...sooooo important! kemal will get 6 more free Silo updates for free...until version 2.0...but that's the same for anyone who bought version 1.4. would be nice if they give him 2.0 for free, but kemal says if not, he will buy it! Michelle & Sylvaine...thank you for nice words!! Randy...you're teaching a class!! Wow!!! How wonderful for you!!!! yep...a tremendous amount of work goes into those! you gotta have a lot of patience, that's for sure! hard to find time to do everything, huh! thanks again everybody!!!! :)
