Subject: Rendering Problem

Hi All I have a problem that Poser seems to freezer when I am rendering, when I turned 'Smooth Polygon' off and it seem to work okay? Is this normal, can I fix it, or am I doing something wrong. I have Poser 5, and this is the first time I have tried doing anything with 2 people so it is a little bit more complex then other renders. Thanks Grant

How much memory do you have? It sounds like your computer
is running out of resources. Turning off "Smooth Polygons" means
your computer isn't working as hard to render the scene.
Also, do you have other programs running at the same time?
If so, turn them off while you are rendering.

I have 512 MB of RAM, The only other programs that would be running is the stuff that starts up on boot up like Nortons. I might try with turning tha off and see how it goes. Thanks Grant

Sounds like you just got Poser5 to me. Might be a dumb question but have you downloaded and installed SR4 for poser5. If not go and do it now! If you have then I'm sorry I can't help further :-( thefixer poser coordinator.

Injustice will be avenged.

Are you using high-quality textures? If so, sometimes Poser runs out of memory when loading these - try disabling bump maps or substituting the textures with some reduced-size ones (be sure to "save as", close poser and then re-open it with the new textures, however). Also, should you be using some old MAT files for P4, they sometimes load .bum files as bump maps, which are rather huge if hi-res (and AFAIK do nothing on P5) that can be removed at once.
