Once you get your hue layers, you can slowing shift then to the colors you like. In the above image, I used more the colors I wanted at a higher strength to just nudge the original colors around to what I wanted. There are many different ways to shift/correct hues.

Thanks - I'm reminded at a tangent of the colours you used (on a blondish base) in the Wild and Messy hair. One of the first things I did after getting that hair was to make colour change MATS for various other hair types, which I continue to use to great effect. I can often get the colour I'm seeking by using the color tool in Poser... but I'm usually quite surprised at the actual colour that I've selected (which I would never have chosen manually).
Yeah caulbox, I hear ya. That is why I always did blonde bases textures. If you have a pale blonde base texture or Light brown, you can get almost any other color you will ever need without more maps. Those hair mats were alot of fun.

Ok Carcinogen, I was dying to say something to you. Go read the Rdna front page. :) Now I say nothing more and go get my car from the garage. Dragged my muffler 100 miles last weekend. :)

I love hand painting textures. Time consuming but fun. The skin tones on the chart can also be used to shift textures too into a new skin range. You might need another layer set to "Saturation" though depending on the texture brighness. I use my charts alot for "replace" colro. Instead of trying eyedrop the perfect pixel I grab the color I am checkingfor off the palette.

I agree , time consuming but relaxing at the same time it is frustrating (am i the only one who adores being frustrated to the point of pulling my hair out but wouldnt have it any other way? probably >.o) I differ from saturation to overlay to soft light and hard light to achieve the perfect skin tone i am after, god i love layers and opacity levels! hehe I abhor trying to match colors by trying to pixel pick one that suits with the eye dropper tool but for my skin tones since finding your charts, the colors blend amazingly good and are not difficult to keep the even flow of the texture!
#8D7D6A / #8B795E I was playing around once before i found antons charts and these two colors, (these are the hex codes for them) turned out wonderful African american skin tones for me when i did textures with them and rendered, if you've got psp just copy and paste into the material box that allows you to change colors where the html code is displayed all other apps i dont know how to change colors in >.o
momodot, I did a post recently about using a pastel color layer in Photoshop to remove ash/white spots on textures. The same can be done and works incredible on dark skin maps. To reduce ash, create a pastel golden layer above the map and set it to "Darken". This will convery all pixels that are greyish white to a soft golden pastel that is still a highlight. Use the opacity, or lighten the pstel, until it works. Many ethnic textures are greem. You can wteak that using the above method too. Hope that helps. You can also use the sin pallete colors to create lates for Hue, saturtation, that can tweak your maps.
