Subject: How to save the finished render in compressed size?
I use Paint Shop Pro, but you can do this in any graphic program.
For PSP when I'm saving my file, I go to "File", "Export", ".jpg". In there I can adjust the compression while viewing the results. I pick the highest amount of compression that doesn't affect my image quality.
Oh yeah, I never save Poser renders as .jpg. I save them always as .png and only save as .jpg from within Paint Shop Pro, after some post work

Once you have your image the way you want it, try running it through Interactive JPEG Optimizer. I use it on .jpg and .tif files and it reduces the size that Poser or my image editor produces with little noticible change in quality at the default setting for many images."Democracy is a pathetic belief in the collective wisdom of individual ignorance." - H. Reduced by 19.92 MB and you're ecstatic, or by 19.92 KB and you're being ironic...? On the default setting of 10, I reduced a 1665 KB Poser .tif to a 81 KB .jpg. A 184 KB .jpg went to 65KB. A lot depends on the software. Those results are pretty typical for Poser .jpg files saved at 100. If you're already using PhotoShop's optimization you'll probably get less of a reduction.

Well, If u are using Photoshop's save for web, quality around 60, tweak around with the colour base....Thats the damn best reduction u can get. Photoshop's the best. Consider buying. The CS2 version also works HDRI. I save all my max renders as HDRI now. Real cool. Too bad poser don't have any support for HDRI. Saves quite some time getting exposure right. :)
I've always heard PhotoShop's jpeg compression was very good. For the price though I could get CorelDraw and have enough left to buy a PC :-) Even that would be overkill since my old PhotoPaint 8 has more features than I'll ever use. From what I've seen the IBL in Poser 6 is very nice but I don't know if it can use .hdr format files for lightprobes. You can use PoseRay to export to POVRay and use .hdr image based lighting (.hdr converted to .pfm in HDRShop), so even Poser 4 users can use HDRI with a little effort.

I have always wanted to upload my pictures here at the gallery but it says file size not to exceed 512K etc. My question is, so how do you all save your work in Poser? If I am going to be using layers then I save in png format but if it's a .jpg I choose 100, is that correct? Anything less seems to make blurred pixels around the pictures. Ok so I got my render from Poser saved in .jpg at 100 max. If it's still too big...what do I do next please to 'compress' it? Does compress means to save .jpg at a lower rate then 100? Or to crop the picture size? If anyone has time to give a brief step by step advice on this or point me to a tutorial site, I be so grateful. Thank you all :)
