Anybody had this beauty? I've had P6 running since yesterday and have just started to get some nice renders despite quite a few glitches but, this one surprized be. And when I click on any bodypart, it zooms in 10%. Rotating cam brings her "bones" out for a little sun. It renders like this, too. To all who have had no probs, hats off Guess I'll be limited to sci fi and horror for a while.

Check the "Hither" setting on the camera. It causes items that are too close to the camera to be invisible. That could cause what you are seeing there. EDIT: I had to adjust the brightness on my monitor to see a little better. Now, looking at it more closely I'm not so sure it's the hither setting, but it wouldn't hurt to try it.

Thought I'd ask, just in case ... Have you updated your display drivers?

That's groovy. I dig the "Frieda from Peanuts" hairstyle shader too, naturally curly is cool. Looking forward to more of this genre, thanks for sharing. :) sorry, I don't mean to make jest (totally) of this... I'm sure it's quite frustrating

Deecey, Not a cam prob as I've yet to even find a shadowcam view (gone in P6) much less mess with the hither settings. Ben, I'll try to accomidate #p

DCArt ( ) posted Tue, 24 May 2005 at 7:18 PM

The shadow cams are there somewhere, but I'm trying to remember where (I don't have Poser on this computer! Oh, the shame!!) Off the top of my head, I'm going to say you can select them from the Parameters window.

richardson ( ) posted Tue, 24 May 2005 at 7:59 PM

Parameter box>Camera>Shadowcam is the P5 filepath. P6 does not show a shadowcam view at least not on mine. I depend on it and use it on every render I do. Only way to know where the shadows fall... I did import a P5 shadowcam set but did not get a "view" on those either (distorted low focal view) in P6. Looks like I've got some things to work around.

richardson ( ) posted Tue, 24 May 2005 at 8:09 PM

OK...I imported my default lightset from P5 and even though shadowcams are listed, there is no change when I click on shadowcam. Stays fixed on Main cam. I know P5 could not save a cam in light libraries but this is bad or worse. Can anyone tell me if they get a shadowcam? I know a lot of people don't bother with them but to me, they increase my chances of a successful render 10fold.

OK I'm back on my other computer now. If you go to the document window, there are two drop-down menus near the top tabs. Right under the Render tab, you'll see the shadow cams, near the bottom of the list.

I got something similar before I updated my OpenGL driver. Super groovy picture :( What hair was that... I am looking for curly hair... is that Alicia Hair? I am on the fence about it.

DCArt ( ) posted Tue, 24 May 2005 at 8:31 PM

Ack I just realized you already found those but haven't been able to actually look through them. You are correct, the camera doesn't change to that view when you select it from the menu. Hmmmm

If you right click on the preview window, you can get to the Shadow cameras.

Note : I had to switch to SreeD to actually see anything (also on right click menu).

DCArt ( ) posted Tue, 24 May 2005 at 8:54 PM

Thanks, nruddock, I forgot about those menus! LOL Mine seem to work OK in OpenGL mode, they switch fine. Another hmmmm.

And you can also use the drop down just above the camera control.

Momodot...It's the hair that came out with Shahara by Trav. It has a lot of morphs and despite being a little "heavy" it's light for what it is...a LOT of hair. I would recommend it. I started to use it as I'm tired of prop hair. Will try an update on the driver. Deecey. Thanks for hangin in there. I think you see now where my poor descrips are getting at. I'm really surprized noone has noticed it but then I have not read all the threads.

richardson ( ) posted Tue, 24 May 2005 at 9:20 PM

Sometimes I wish I never posted a thing here because I'm usually to blame... nrudduck had it...it's all right click functions from the light. Embarrassing!

But if you never asked, you'd never have an answer or two or three to try out... AND all the lurkers would still be in the dark, too. As to your Poser running for a couple of days before you hit that render, are you by any chance on a Mac? Carolly
