Subject: Wierd results when I render a plane or square object in Poser 6

In Poser 6 open I open up a new document and delete the default figure. I goto props/primatives and add a square. I scale the sqaure slightly and when I render I get a strange black line pattern.

I've attached an example.

I know I can just make thin cubes, but I would really like to get this to render properly. Does anyone know what is happening and how to fix it.

Use the Single Sided Square prop.

Thanks, that does work. However I am using existing content that uses a two sided square prop. Do I have to rebuilt for poser 6, or is there a way to make that work.

I've heard that if you add a small amount of displacement to the square it will help. Other than that I'm not sure. I havent played around with it enough yet to have any other suggestions. Other members may have some ideas/work arounds. Clint

A minimum amount of displacement applied to the surface of the square will help, but you should also try the new Normals_Forward option on the Poser Surface node on the Advanced tab in the Material room. This is new in Poser 6 SR1. It might just do away with the problem instantly. Uli

Yes, Thank you! That works.

I was just having this problem ... Thanks for asking it. It was also transfering the texture that was on that item to another item when it rendered. The preview was fine but when I rendered it had the sky on that I had on the background square on another prop.
