Tyger_purr, that idea makes a lot of sense. Not just for this. Python script?

that idea makes a lot of sense. I was more worried about the description making sense than the idea making sense :-p

A python script for moving a figure to the exact center of the scene would be soooo useful. Kinda like when you import an .obj into poser, the import dialog has the option to center the figure. I would love something like that :) - I would also love a script that could "drop" a figure to the point where it intersected another figure, much like Bryce's "Drop to floor" command. That way you wouldn't have to manually align the figures feet to, say, a spaceship or something. You could just lift the figure above the floor, then use the python script to drop him.

I can sort of see how to do this sort of thing manually. Use some object as a pointer to identify the spot you want to be at the centre of the scene. And then apply its X,Y,Z coordinates to move the big prop. I think you'd have to invert them to do that. Drop-to-floor means collision detection, and that's more difficult.

could you make a special prop that you inserted into the scene and put it xyz and rotation where you wanted the origin point to be and have a python move/rotate everything (and i do mean everything) in the scene so that the prop was sitting at the origin.

Don't forget that there is a low tech solution :-

Use a primitive Prop like the (low res) Ball or Box.
Position it where you want the figure to end up.
Edit | Copy (or Ctrl-C).
Load the figure, select the Body, and then Edit | Paste (or Ctrl-V).

Thorgrim - Surely CP takes PayPal payments, yes? If not, and you have an account, just send your $1.99 payment to me with CP SS3 $1.99 Sale in the notes section of your order, and e-mail your P6 SN to me at pam@poserworks.com I'll send you the link to download the SS3. I can't imagine CP not taking PayPal, but I could be wrong (it has happened before. :/)

Tyger Purr - I've got something for you... Check your e-mail this afternoon. :)pg
