Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 26 6:11 am)
These items are in .obj file format, and can be used in many 3D applications. They're not specifically designed for Poser (they won't appear in the library), but you can load them individually via Poser's import function: File menu --> Import --> Wavefront OBJ elfie hasn't visited Renderosity since December. I hope she's okay.

You can find a free version of the UVMapper utility here: http://www.uvmapper.com/ (get the Clasic version). Start the program, load one of the objects by using the File/Load model menu and wait until the object is loaded (won't take long). If the object is mapped, the texture template will be displayed. you can then export this template, load it in a picture editing package (like Paint Shop or Photoshop) and use the template as a guide to make a texture for the object. If the object isn't mapped, UVMapper will indicate it. It will allow you to create a new map (there are tutorials here , I believe).
In UVMapper, can you check what is listed when you use the Select by Group and by Material (under Tools) items of the Edit Menu ? If there is something listed 'by Material' that you don't find from within Poser, you can 'Assign by Material' for each one (Edit menu agin), give each material a new name then save the new OBJ and import it in Poser. You should be able to see each material zone in Poser and assign materials to them. If there are no items that you can select, you'll need to create a new Map (Edit Menu still).
The various items under Group are the object's components. You can indeed map them separately (create a new map for each) but you can also create new groups by selecting some items ,'create a new group' then map the group. You should check the tutorials at uvmapper.com for a step by step explanation. The tricky part, I guess , will be to identify with item is what in the original object. Creating the texture mapping isn't that difficult, but can take some time depending on the object's complexity.

I bought this and it doesn't show up on Poser. It doesn't come with any way to make previews or anything. Anyone help me?? I can't use it and I paid for it. http://market.renderosity.com/softgood.ez?ViewSoftgood=20303 I tried emailing elfie but the email bounced right back, said the email box doesn't exsist.
