Subject: Files for DAZ Studio?

keyze ( ) posted Sun, 29 May 2005 at 10:16 AM · edited Wed, 18 December 2024 at 8:57 AM

I have ignored the Studio untill recently. I decided that I was going to finally play with it a little and I found that it wants files all from the DAZ file system. It keeps comming up that it can't find the texture file. It took a long time to develope my file system for me. It is where I can find anything I want in no time. I refuse to change my system. When Studio can't find a texture file, no problem just find it. Well guess again, I point it directly at the file it wants. It still says it can't find it and I have to fix it!!!!!!! I have all my files the way I want them and all on an external hard drive so that it is a snap to take them along and not put them on another computer. My work computer has the program on it but, I do not want to add all these files there. That means that when I point to the file in Poser 5 or 6 it is happy I found it and simply uses it. Studio however can't seem to be happy with my system and refuses to allow me to apply them. It just keeps screaming. I am sorry but I think this is a short comming for people like me who might work on more than one computer. Is there a work around or should I stick with Poser that is not so picky?

To allows Daz/Studio to work easily with other directories you need to point out in the Preference window where your prefered directories are. I also have some of my files in other directories exactly like you another hard drive and everything is working well. The settings can be added by opening the Preference in the Edit menu. Set the other directories with the add button. Hope this will help. Jacques

Yahoo! Thanks again! Talked to DAZ about using there prog to teach some local kids how it works so that they can learn it. Hope to get DAZ a lot of new little members. I have talked to the parents and they say they would be happy to pay the membership if there kids can do what I do with Poser. Told them I would learn it so that I could teach on the same program that they will use. Lots of little future customers comming along. Classes start in about 2 weeks. The first ten will learn V3 and how to clothe her. From there, they can call when and if they get in trouble. All of them are holding there breath, they all want the Dragon! Told parents they had to buy anything other than V3 and they said it was something they look forward to also. You might see more questions from time to time. Thanks again for your help!!!!!!!!!!!!
