Did you see that there is now a package at DAZ selling those trees that are the presets in Arboro? I wonder if Wolfram Diestel knows about and approved that. (Think that was the guy's name who I wrote to when I was getting to grips with Arboro). I suppose to be fair, it's far from a learner's application especially as the meshes seem to need a lot of cutting down once made. Lovely image Sackrat.
Very nicely done. Love the sunlight shining through the trees!

Thanks Erlik,......this is a great little app. Actually I don't need to mess with the meshes at all,........so long as they are exported as .dxf files. The two center trees are Abraro, the two to either side are MECN Tree Factory. Yeah,......the trees growing out of rock did bother me a bit(although this does happen here in the Valley, they just don't get that big), but as is the scene file was about 670Mb's and Bryce was begining to protest. The terrain is actually two terrains(exported at "Planetary" resolution) one on top of another with a transparency applied to the top one. I believe the app is available at SourceForge.net. Thanks for looking. Oh yeah,.......I should have mentioned,....the lighting is madmax's Zenith Hi-res light rig.

Great looking trees sackrat! I know what you mean about the huge file sizes. Did you generate the leaves in Arbaro?
I sometimes cheat by using Bryce tree leaves,(I make the trunks invisible)on my Arbaro and POVtree models. Unfortunately I never got to try MECN tree factory before it vanished. I never met a tree-making app that I didn't like, lol. Have you tried Lsystem4? It's a freeware app that has quite a few good tree presets among others. It's actually quite easy to use and has a built in "mutator" that can help you come up with your own custom versions of the presets.
I disagree, Danamo... I've never met a tree app I DID like. They are all too predictable, and too angular. They never really look like real trees. Then again, I live near Seattle. We have wonderful trees here, and sooooo many different kinds! Tree Factory was a joke, Danamo. Very, very underpowered. You didn't miss much!

I can't remember who it was that posted the link about a Java app called Abraro,.........but whoever it was,........thanks ! I just posted an image using some trees made in Abraro and I think they look pretty decent,.......please go have a look and lemme' know. Some of my MECN Tree Factory trees are also in this image,.........Abraro is much better,..........I just wish the mods it produces weren't so BIG,........Eastern Cottonwood was 37Mb's."Any club that would have me as a member is probably not worth joining" -Groucho Marx
