DeepPaint 2 is actually a bit newer than DeepPaint3D, DeepPaint 1 was released in 1999 as the standalone cq photoshop-plugin version of the DP3D paintengine with the 3D bits removed. DeepPaint 2 was released in 2003 and instead of being a big step up, it felt more like a jump down, clunky interface, hard to get at options and the behaviour of the PShop plugin is a bit too haphazard to be of much use. I went back to using DP1 after a few weeks.

The best thing about the free DP2 is that people who bought the program in the past, no longer have to fight RH-support to get a working serial# after reinstalling the program.

Thanks for posting this; it's a real find. How did you hear about it? There's nothing on Right Hemisphere's site about DP2D at all.

Now, if they'd only release an earlier version of DP3D for free as well... somehow I doubt it. :-)

Also where it says... "Minimum requirements: Windows 2000/XP, Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 64MB RAM P 200-MMX processor." This does work under windows 98 as well.

If anyone is interetsed. I wrote most of the tutorials on Right Hemisphere's website for the first Deep Paint which I loved. they can be used with the second version also. They are all on my website in the article index in the tutorial section. I thought this might be helpful.
