Really getting Pid off with Bryce 5.5.....I keep getting the wonderful 'ERROR' messages when trying all sorts of ways to import 'Obj' & Obp' files. When viewing the 'Files of type' the 'objects (.obp)' shows nothing in my folder. When viewing the 'Files of type' the 'Bryce2 objects (.obj)' shows all my files in the selected folder. Its when I select one of the files I get the error message below: When going to 'Create' - 'Import' I get an error message saying "An unexpected error has occurred (invalid format)". When viewing the 'Files of type' the 'All files (.*)' I get the 'mtl' File shown too but still has the error message appear. ------------------------- All works OK in Bryce 5!!!..........Bryce 5.5 = $99 for hassle! ------------------------------------ PART 2............. "Bryce 5.5:Bryce55.exe - Unable to locate DLL" The error message: "The dynamic link library B5Axiom.dll could not be found in the specified path D:Program FilesDAZBryce 5.5;,;C:WINNTsystem32;C:WINNTsystem;C:WINNT;C:WINNTsystem32;C:WINNT;C:WINNTSystem32Wbem;C:Program FilesCommon FilesAutodesk Shared;C:Program Filesbackburner 2;C:WINDOWS;C:WINDOWSCOMMAND". Then the folder opens to show NO files at all. Is this because of the import DLL missing? All can be imported into Bryce5 OK.?????????? Any wise and wonderful people out there know of a solution?

Sorry Marc, I haven't upgraded yet so I haven't run into this problem. I know you know how to import models, so I won't give you redundant advice on how to import stuff into Bryce5,lol. Do you still have your old Bryce5 installed? If so, could you import the models into a default Bryce5 scene(save it) and then open and convert the file into Bryce 5.5? I know this might be an added hassle, especially if you're importing a Daz, or Poser figure, but it's all i could think up off the top of my head. Good luck.

Bryce 5.5 apparently has issues with unmapped OBJs or the ones with "out of range" data. Mine simply won't import them. Try running them through UVMapper. BTW, B55Axiom.dll is located in the Bryce folder, Program FilesDAZBryce 5.5. It might have been damaged or it simply disappeared. Even stranger things have happened under Windows. :-) The ultimate attempt to fix the things is a reinstall of 5.5. After a complete removal, not just over the old installation. PS. And it seems strange to me that Bryce is looking for its own DLL in max folders.

@foleypro. Its 2000 SP 4. @danamo. Yes i have Bryce 5 and I've been doing just that but its very annoying after paying out for Bryce 5.5. What bugs me is that the file not found by Bryce 5.5 is a Bryce 5 dll file (B5Axiom.dll). I even copied the file to Bryce 5.5 and i didnt get the error message (The dynamic link library B5Axiom.dll bla bla bla) but it crashed instead!!

@Erlik No, its not the B55Axiom.dll its asking for the B5Axiom.dll file. The B55Axiom.dll is in the Bryce folder.

Also .OBJs that have values with exponents won't load in 5.5. This is pretty common with pro modelers and they also worksin 501. I know you just want 5.5 to work correctly (I do too!) but UVMapper does fix all the .obj problems I've found but you can also (well almost always) load into 501 and save, and load that into 5.5. Here's looking forward to another 5.5 update; Dan
