Here's another start for a UF tag image. Guidelines: 1. Have fun. 2. Add as many layers as you want, anywhere you want. Identify your layers with your name. 3. You can modify or move any layer in any way, just don't delete it. If you do modify a layer, add your initials to the layer name (like Jack+km). Be prepared to have your layers modified or moved. 4. If tweaks overlap and we end up with multiple versions, cool, pick one and go with it. Like in the previous image, copy the UPR to the notepad and save it as a .txt file. Upload the .txt file. To view the image, copy the text and paste it into UF

Hi Keith,

I've missed out on most of this since I haven't been around much, but I'll play along. I don't know if I saved the text file correctly, but I'll give it a shot. Fun idea to see this on the forum!

Maria! Good to see you in action and a fine tweak :)) I couldn't help but modify about everything a little bit... Keith

DreamWarrior ( ) posted Tue, 07 June 2005 at 10:48 PM

Hey! I would love to see what I am missing! Wouldn't it be great to post an image of the tweaks as you progress? You can post the .txt in one post and the image immediatly after in the same thread. It could even be a not-so-big image if you want, to save render times, but I think it would be much more interesting to lurkers (like me for the moment :) Barb

This is a fun one, Keith! I couldn't resist adding a couple of Doodads.....

Home for lunch and couldn't resist - neat image! Just added a layer of fbm PT's and made a couple of glass hemi masks - positive and reverse - to keep Panny's neat doodies confined to the sphere and to keep my dumb fbmPT's off of it. Check the Inside background color on the rev mask and the gradient opacity on the positive one. Rick

Ok, I forgot to mask the other doodie layer and also I got rid of half the iterations and all but 1 on the bailout to help this guy load a little faster... c-ya! Rick

Hmmm....maybe the shading layer needs to be just a tad bigger? Kinda needs to come off the right side a bit more?

Wow, you all, this is looking pretty awesome. I don't want to mess it up, so I think I'll just watch this one evolve. Treena

Rykk ( ) posted Thu, 09 June 2005 at 7:21 AM

Nifty texture, Panny! - real opulent and gives a rich, luxurious vibe to the folds. LAte 4 work - c-ya! Rick

Deagol ( ) posted Thu, 09 June 2005 at 1:54 PM

Rick, nice job on the depth. With that I think you are right about the shading on the right. Panny, good call on the texture. I think I'm done - unless someone comes up with something very different. I sure enjoyed working on this with everyone. Thanks for diving in.

Pannyhb ( ) posted Thu, 09 June 2005 at 3:00 PM

I'm done:) Thanks to Keith for a wonderful starting par, great depth and masking from both Rick and Keith! I learned a lot! Let's do this again, soon! Panny

Ok, I went ahead and resized/moved the orb shading layer - I reckon it's time to, as Keith says, "stick a fork in it" too. :?) Here's an idea - maybe make this a regular thing for everyone to do and either one of the artists or Nick/Barbara make a special gallery to show all of the tag images? Just a thought... c-ya! Rick

Rykk ( ) posted Thu, 09 June 2005 at 6:46 PM

And here's the pic - no big changes, just the shading...

KITCHAOS ( ) posted Thu, 09 June 2005 at 7:04 PM

That's a great idea Rick! And I think it's an excellent way to learn about working techniques with a nice single image at a time focus. It's fun and educational, challenging and collaborative!...I also like the way you inserted the images so we can see the progress. WELL DONE!

A different direction... Didn't actually add any layers of my own but just tweaked those already there. Mainly just played with the gradients to make it more earthy and changed the sphere a bit. Matt.

DreamWarrior ( ) posted Thu, 09 June 2005 at 8:12 PM

Let me get back to normal (still waiting on that darned PC), and then I'll try to think of a good way to do this in a tidy way. :) In the meantime, please don't stop the fun. Keep playing. It will also give me information on what is needed, etc. I've wanted to do this for a long time. Maybe we could have an official game, and all those who want to start "unofficial" games of course would be welcome. I'm saying this because keeping records and updating html for all the games that might appear would require an enormous amount of time. Cheers! Barb
