Hi, this thread caught my eye... I checked out zazzle.com and it looks like they offer a great quality product. But 10% commission for the artist?!?! Wow! I thought Renderosity merchants were getting ripped off at a 50% cut, but that's ridiculous. They claim that is a higher than average cut for non-exclusive contracts, but I think it's still a poor percentage. LOL But I think I'll still use them, I'd love to see my artwork on a t-shirt or poster!

Actually, 10% doesn't sound too bad if you consider that most of Zazzle's offerings utilize their time and materials; here at R'osity, it's mostly just storage space that the site is offering, and we create everything in the products that actually reach our customers' desktops. If we printed the cards, the T'shirts, and all the rest of the stuff, and shipped them ourselves, then 10% would be a problem.

Attached Link: Check out the wider range

I have stuff on Zazzle but prefer Cafe Press since you can set your own markup and they have a lot more products available to put your art on. Zazzle has only T-shirts, Posters and greeting cards, but Cafe Press has mugs, hats, clocks and other stuff. Plus they offer book publishing and CD publishing

I wouldn't recommend Zazzle for selling retail, but if you wanted to just make some for your own use, it isn't bad. I prefer CafePress if I was going to do retail sales because of all of the options mentioned above. But it is good to have a couple of places to compare, that way you know what is out there, what to expect and if you are being ripped off. :) --Rebekah--
