TY, silly me....goes to show that my major was not physics! Some of you formula writers should see if there are any that might make nice shapes...hint,hint,hint. :)

The page is linked to and served by a major university. Perhaps they had a server down for a few minutes for repairs? Just try again.

thank you, it seems their script doesn't like konquerer, it opens fine in mozzila though. thank you for the link.

I was very curious about this effect, so I modelled it in Bryce. This is a white background, no ground plane, sunlight disabled and 5 totally reflective polished silver spheres. There is a triangle of spheres in a horizontal plane, each one touching the other 2. A fourth sphere is centered and atop the other 3, touching each of them, and a fifth is located below in the same manner. I added one light in the center. Then before rendering, I went to properties and pushed the 'rays' number to 30, I have no idea whether I needed to do that or not. Interesting results, huh?
