How about something that requires a bit of a camera challange, say high speed, like catching a shot of droping water or anything that is moving, freeze it. Not sure what to call it!! Failing that No.6 Steve

cynlee ( ) posted Wed, 29 June 2005 at 1:18 AM

we did have speed & time exposure last year but there's nothing that saids we can't do it again :]

UKmac ( ) posted Wed, 29 June 2005 at 1:26 AM

OK, My vote changed to Speed and Time Exposure. A technical camera challange rather than a subject challange. Steve

DJB ( ) posted Wed, 29 June 2005 at 1:54 AM

Thinking speed and time exposures are two complete different subjects. Unless you capture something going fast using time exposure. I would go with Time Exposure as I want to try this out at night now.

I lay my vote on that new category..."Speed &/or timed exposure". God knows i need the practise!!! #:O)

How come we say 'It's colder than hell outside' when isn't it realistically always colder than hell since hell is supposed to be fire and brimstone?

Hmmm put me down for 'Song titles' :o)

TomDart ( ) posted Wed, 29 June 2005 at 6:58 AM

Here's one more for "Song Titles".

TwoPynts ( ) posted Wed, 29 June 2005 at 9:39 AM

Speed or Timed Exposure. Next month, song titles. ;] I preferr the latter, but want to push myself, heheh.

If speed or timed exposure wins, you all will be partially responsible for my demise-by-insanity. I spent the better part of 3 nights this past week chasing lightning with a digital. The result was not too bad but far from presentable. I vote for Song Titles but will resolve to do my best with what ever wins! Have a great weekend, Jackie

Okay.I pick antiques/nostalgia.I think that would be really challenging and fun to do...:)

i think so too... there goes my vote... antiques/nostalgia :]

Nilla ( ) posted Wed, 29 June 2005 at 4:24 PM

I am gonna go with "Speed or Timed Exposure" Although I could be persuaded to go with Antiques/Nostalgia if there is more interest! Brenda :)

Onslow ( ) posted Wed, 29 June 2005 at 4:48 PM

Don't really understand what is meant by speed - do you mean high speed photography like capturing: balloons bursting, glasses breaking, etc. ? I am assuming timed exposure is a long exposure ?

cynlee ( ) posted Wed, 29 June 2005 at 5:00 PM

here's some examples from last year:

Sept2004 Speed

Oct2004 Timed Exposure

really, if this topic is picked we really should be more specific & narrow it down... since i just added it at the last minute as suggested, but they are 2 different applications... sorry for the confusion... it's up to you guys...

Onslow ( ) posted Wed, 29 June 2005 at 5:06 PM

I agree that needs more definition as to what is the subject so I am voting for....................Song Titles.

Woohoo !! More people for 'Songtitles' please !! ;D

Nilla ( ) posted Wed, 29 June 2005 at 5:16 PM

Cindy when they say "speed" I am thinking "stop action Photography" which would be a learning experience for all of I think! Will start a separate thread, y'all need to check this out, it is really cool! Brenda :)

cynlee ( ) posted Wed, 29 June 2005 at 5:40 PM

yes... i agree... there's plenty of good examples from Sept... so... for those that voted for speed & timed exposure please narrow that down to one or the other... 8. Speed 9. Timed Exposure

L8RDAZE ( ) posted Wed, 29 June 2005 at 6:37 PM

think it IS time to do the SONGTITLES thang! Sounds fun and challenging! L8r! Joe

Nilla ( ) posted Wed, 29 June 2005 at 9:00 PM

Speed!

TomDart ( ) posted Wed, 29 June 2005 at 9:24 PM

I have already voted for "Song Titles"...but have a suggestion if this is the chosen challenge: Will your image bring to thought the song without a title first? That is the difficult part. Considering this site is international, the task is even more difficult. No, there is no song in particular in this thought at the moment. Whatever, bring it on!

UKmac ( ) posted Wed, 29 June 2005 at 11:05 PM

Well since I started it off, I meant speed, i.e. fast shutter freezing a movement. So therefore I vote 8. SPEED Steve

DJB ( ) posted Thu, 30 June 2005 at 12:22 AM

The last 3 times I wanted antiques/nostalgia...so I gave up this time LOL cheese with this whine
