Hmmm, some different sized stars, and some areas darker than others....jmo

it definetely looks like a nebula, i like it. one thing i would suggest though, in terms of stars, is creating them with Diard software Universe Image Creator (shareware, but free for stars and what not, includes PS plugin). Cheers drac

I think that Zhann is wise here; and drac's suggestion about Universe is very well founded. I have nothing useful to add, really (space backgrounds isn't exactly my cup of tea), just wanted to say that it looks really good and lots like a nebula, really... =)

Try to combine it with the manual at the link. It DOES look like a nebula to me though

Do Nebula's have a higher density of stars (more white dots) at the center and less stars at the edges (or are those clusters)? You could try that and it may give it more shape. Or are nebulas just the dust clouds without stars? Its been a long time since I've looked at astro images, so am not sure.

edit - read rest of thread - nice link Kylara :)

I perfer doing the Nebulae in Bryce itself I have better results and youcan layer differnt colors and textures to make soemthing really interesting. I am the odd man out on this but I often do pics with Nebula textures and personally I find what can be doen in Bryce is better then other programs. Nebula have a sort of fiberous look to them often and the photoshop or other generic way of producing them does not do that part they just come out as a blur they are not; just like when you look at the northeren lights it is not a blur like the photos but a series of strands and moving like a glowing curtain in the sky. Said my 2 cents worth. Sorry I just think Bryce does it better.

I would suggest making some bright areas within the nebulae. And a couple brighter main stars within as well. If you get a chance to check the link. I made that nebulae in Pshop, think it turned out well. Try duplicating the layer and changing the layer setting to dissolve, add a little blur and see how it goes for you. Good luck!

The best way i found to make space scenes (Like I have loads!) is to use a plug-in for Photoshop, its called KPT effects Fraxframe II.......just using 2 colours you can get some awesome scenes and then just play around with the stars to your liking. I hope this helps you out.

Much better on the second one, however for more drama place a darker formation across the very bright center section just off center......I',ve been working on scene files to replicate some of the amazing nebulas (inc the 'Brair Patch') from the Star Trek movies....

Now we're getting somewhere! Excellent! I think maybe - just maybe - you should pull back just enough to have a bit of black space all around the neb....JM2P
