Nurse Becky has decided that Inga Ingenue needs a nice shot. Poor Inga. Hey guys ... just wondering if I could get your opinion on the color in this shot. Just wondering something. Thanks.

Fine, but perhaps over-saturated. [I'm really worried about our Donald. Seems he's fallen in with a pecular bunch of of playmates. Even more pecular than the crowd here, if you can imagine that! He's not sleeping, and is living off of non-alcoholic beer and bar soda. Tedz? Cyn? Rescue party?]

I don't know that this image is oversaturated. But Nurse Becky was a bit heavy handed when applying her rouge! That said the rest of the skin tones look OK... Inga's lower arms have a bit of an odd tone to them now that I look a little closer... hmmmmm....maybe it's just me.... Brenda :)

Thanks guys ... thought my eyes were playing with me a bit. I somehow flipped my converter into a Hi-Saturation conversion profile. I automatically compensated for it a bit in my processing, but it was still bugging me. Just figured that out while looking through my settings. Glad this was the 1st image of the set ... would have sucked to have to redo a bunch of images. Misha - Ha ... you ain't seen nothing yet. Gimme another week to get to a couple of other events. :) And if you guys think you could rescue me from the likes of Miss Ingenue, you're nutz! :) Nilla - It's burlesque ... makeup can be a little heavier than normal ... although I think the hi-sat profile made the red a bit more red than normal. As for the arm ... I'm fighting a bit with the light here. Someone decided to put a tungsten light to the left, but not right so I had to use flash to fill in. Means 2 different light temps in same shot (3200k tungsten and 5800k flash). Blah. :)

On this monitor it is real good.

Actually, it does appear there's something wrong with the colour. Some kind of weird cast, reddish in the upper part and greenish in the lower part of the picture. Take a look at the curtains to the right of the nurse and take a look at Inge's lower arms. But then, it may be ambient light reflected on the objects or that temperature difference you're talking about.

There's a pink cast here too!! Definitely! Now since we all have different monitors.....! Mmmmh!

Erlik ( ) posted Sat, 02 July 2005 at 12:49 PM

Well, yeah, my "reddish" cast can equally be named "pink". OTOH, the curtains might really be pinkish. :-)

The curtains are actually pink. A little orange mixed in throughout on this one, corrected it as much as I could when I reprocessed it. Did notice that bluish-green tinge on her arm ... not sure what the heck is going on there. I guess that's what happens when you don't pay attention and switch to a new color profile, but run actions made for another one. Normally, I would have caught it quick, but I've been working on burlesque photos for the last 8 days. Not enough difference between shows .. sort of like not cleansing your palette when eating different foods. Couldn't see it anymore. Took a break for a bit yesterday and looked at some different types of images. Pascale - That use to bug me, but not anymore ... when people tell me I have a certain cast (or it's too bright or dark) I look to make sure and if I don't see it, I don't worry about it too much. I hardware calibrate my monitor every 7 days - so I know my colors are "right".

"working on burlesque photos" ...oh! how horribly awful for you! hehehe... have fun! :D

Erlik ( ) posted Sat, 02 July 2005 at 2:07 PM

Light. Has to be light. Upon a closer look, there's a difference between the left and right sides of Inge's legs and arms. The left side is orangeish and the right side is greenish-blue. It's most noticeable on the legs, though.
