Subject: New Figures for Wardrobe Wizard!!

HandyGM ( ) posted Sat, 02 July 2005 at 3:14 PM · edited Mon, 23 December 2024 at 5:57 AM

Wow, I was really happy to hear today that new figures have been added to Wardrobe Wizard, because I don't have much stuff for She Freak. I didn't see anyone talking about it, so I thought I'd post and let you guys know! The new figures are Kiki, LaRoo2, Glam Jessi, Glam Vicki, Ingenue Vicki, Staci, and She Freak.

judee3d ( ) posted Sat, 02 July 2005 at 3:41 PM

Yes, great news! I think most of us were expecting one or two at best, but 8??? I only have 2 of the new ones, but boy are they going to have fun with some new clothes! judee

Aeneas ( ) posted Sat, 02 July 2005 at 4:21 PM

sorry to be naive, but is WW really as good (and easy to use) at it looks it is?

I have tried prudent planning long enough. From now I'll be mad. (Rumi)

PapaBlueMarlin ( ) posted Sat, 02 July 2005 at 5:16 PM

how about an update for Gladys too :)

dona_ferentes ( ) posted Sat, 02 July 2005 at 5:35 PM

Aeneas, I'm exactly where you are! I was all set to buy, then I joined the Yahoo group and seemed to be seeing lots of messages about problems. To be fair, when people have problems, they tend to post them, but when everything works, they tend to keep quiet and get on with it. So the group may provide a skewed outlook. And then I found that while I was dithering the price jumped way up 'cos I missed the introductory period!! Curses! I'm just at the point where I think this might be a must-have, even at the higher price... but I need just a teeny bit more convincing that it's as good as it looks.

destro75 ( ) posted Sat, 02 July 2005 at 5:57 PM

You need more convincing? Trust me, buy it. This software is a must-have now. Think about the possibilities of using most of your clothing on almost any figure you have...The package is simple to use, and works absolute wonders. I was in on the Beta test, and I bought it as soon as it was released. I am not the least bit sorry I did. As far as people posting problems, if you follow any of those threads, you will see that all questions are answered, and the person winds up ecstatic just a post or two later. Those same people are there the next week sharing analyses with the rest of the group. Also, PhilC and Kamilche (the authors) are on the Yahoo Group practically 24/7. Since WW was released, there hasn't been a time I have visited the forum and at least one of them wasn't on. And they try to answer all support questions themselves. What more can you ask for? Too bad you missed the intro pricing, but let me say, those who have had the product since day 1 agree that we would have paid the current price, maybe even more for this thing. For the record, I have no affiliation with the authors, and I am simply speaking from an extremely satisfied (er, rabid?) customer's perspective. Go ahead, take the plunge. And if that isn't enough to convince you, a functional demo is available at PhilC's website. You can only work with a couple of models with the demo, but it is fully functional on those models (I think they are the P4 defaults.) Hope this helps!

begins to think maybe Phil and Kamilche should put him on the payroll

dona_ferentes ( ) posted Sat, 02 July 2005 at 6:14 PM

Destro... OK, I was already semi-convinced, but I think you just pushed me over the edge. And while I'm really annoyed (at myself!) for not getting in before the price hike, I can't really complain. I've got more than my money's work out of PhilC products in the past, and if this thing works even reasonably well, I guess it'll pay for itself fairly quickly. Thanks!

SAMS3D ( ) posted Sat, 02 July 2005 at 6:34 PM

I am still struggling with it....I have yet to do this right, I need another tutorial. Sharen :-(

destro75 ( ) posted Sat, 02 July 2005 at 7:01 PM

Good to hear that Morphy. Trust me, you will not be disappointed. Sharen, what problem are you having? Can you post what you are doing, and what point you are running into a snag? Also, have you posted to the Yahoo Group forum? Everyone there is ready and willing to help with any problems, and so far, no problem I have seen has gone unanswered, usually by either Phil or Kamilche. I'll help you if I can though, just throw me some specifics.

Sharen, I've recorded an on screen video tutorial for you, (and others). I've placed the link on the Wardrobe Wizard info page. It just shows a very basic "no frills" run through of how to use the program.

Hope it helps.

Count me among the very very satisfied too! The only problem is that you'll have so much fun playing and converting everything to everybody that you won't have time to finish an image, if you're anything like me that is!

AntoniaTiger ( ) posted Sun, 03 July 2005 at 4:07 AM

For anyone who has any doubts, get the demo and try it. It just handles the standard P4 and P5 adults, but there's a lot of good stuff out there still for P4/Posette, and Judy has better elbows. There are awkwardnesses in Poser 5, coming from how the Poser Python system works. Looking at the list, She-Freak needed something like this.

dona_ferentes ( ) posted Sun, 03 July 2005 at 4:23 AM

Ok, I'm going to buy it right now. Like, as soon as I finish typing this. I have an absolute mountain of V2 clothing that I was just about ready to consign to the trashcan. Maybe they'll get a new lease of life!

Had converted this before the update, pulled right in after the update to SheFreak. No smoothing, just converted to figure. Yes, I'm suitably impressed. Marque

Marque ( ) posted Sun, 03 July 2005 at 11:01 AM

Please Phil, can you whip one out for Natalia? Marque

PhilC ( ) posted Sun, 03 July 2005 at 11:08 AM

"whip out" = about 20 hours work :)

Yes Natalia is on the to do list.

I'll throw in my support. Above is a pic from Daz3D (I hope they don't sue me) showing the MilGirl Pre-teen Blacker Magic outfit.

The URL below the pic takes you to a render of a morphed version of TheGirl character wearing the same outfit after some treatment with Wardrobe Wizard.

Now, I admit that I did do some final clean up with magnets; PhilC & Co admit that the program doesn't handle gloves, shoes, and other items as well is it does body clothes. The jacket area around the hands, and the boots, I had to tweak. But had I tried to do this all by magnets, I would have spent hours and hours. I did the above conversion in about 30 minutes on 4 items of clothing.

Yeah, it's worth the $60 bucks!

lundon_Don ( ) posted Sun, 03 July 2005 at 1:33 PM

Don't overlook the fact that it also converts hair. And with hair you also get the built in morphs.

Jim Burton ( ) posted Sun, 03 July 2005 at 8:05 PM

I was very happy to shoot Phil and Kamilche a copy of my figures, in the prospect of getting WW support for them. I'm amazed they got them done so quickly, many thanks!

Lyrra ( ) posted Mon, 04 July 2005 at 1:06 AM

today I converted the PW v1 saloon girl outfit from V1 to fit md, a3, sf, p4f, judy, s3, v3 and sara. If I had staci, koshini, laroo and jessi I could have converted them too given oh another half hour or so. so 8 clothing items times 8 figures in about 4 hours. (And the main reson it took that long is becasue I was reading a book.) I dont know about you? but thats worth my money. for a day to day user it means any clothing item you have will fit almost any model you have (assuming its supported of course) and after the initial setup analysis (longest I've had was 34 minutes) the conversion to the figure takes from 12 seconds to 120 seconds (longest I've had yet) I've had some problems with shoes, espeically shoes not fitted around the figures foot. I had some troubles with some of the adjustment commands after sr4 ish ..but I waited 2 days and Phil and Kamilche fixed the bugs. Right now I'm having trouble with HER, but I told them about it and I'm certain that within the week the issue will be dealt with. We're at sr6 after what, 1 months release? which means as fast as bugs are reported they are fixed and new figure support is added regularly and for FREE. Sure beats DAZ's track record with the UTC. SO basically for the price of one plugin, plus half an hour of my time, I have massively multiplied the usability of my runtime. This in my opinion is a Good Thing. As a content provider I can now go back and dig up some of PoserWorlds more unique items and update them for newer figures. This is also good. We just rereleased the firefighter and labtech set for 12 new figures ..tell me thats not worth the money :) (plus until you've SEEN the freak in a can-can dress you havent fallen out of your chair laughing .....) yeah I did the props manually ... those actually took very little work. its the boots that are gonna kill me :P

destro75 ( ) posted Mon, 04 July 2005 at 7:57 AM

Boots should convert with WW. Just Convert From as a Full Body without Head. It takes a little more work than say, a skirt, but it does work.

Stacie says thanks. She's borrowed the bunny suit from the A3 Collection already and is scoping out other folks wardrobes as well.

Lyrra ( ) posted Mon, 04 July 2005 at 4:15 PM

well the saloon girl boots are shaped to fit to the ankle, but be used with the figures foot and toe turned off. when converting Bad Things happen. I'm working on it.

I only just got round to installing WW about ten minutes ago, and decided to test it by converting an old V2 dress for Jessi. But since I also just bought Apollo, I decided to set WW a more challenging task, just for fun. I had two worries about this product: 1) It wouldn't be half as good as everyone is saying it is. 2) It would have some sort of steep learning curve. Anyway, here's my first effort, as a newbie of less than 10 minute's standing. The whole thing took about 5-6 minutes from start to finish. I'm seriously impressed.

TrekkieGrrrl ( ) posted Wed, 06 July 2005 at 5:33 AM

Yeah... converting clothes becomes an addiction real fast :o) Don't forget (as it has also been mentioned before) that it's also a great way if fitting clothes to custom morphed characters :o)
