You can change the behaviour of a joint with the joint editor. I haven't been using it for some time but I remember you can set up almost everything including buldge.
Are you bending the buttocks as well as the thigh?
Of course, trying this would be a lot easier then re-editing the joints - if it helps.

What I'm trying to do is get more realistic looking sitting and standing poses for V3, but as you can tell, those darn thigh issues keep croping up. I know this is because the verticies/joints are not there for good bends, but this is ridiculous. I mean no person gets thigh buldges like that when just proping their leg up.
Take a look at the picture for an example of what I mean about the V3/S3 thigh issue. Didn't know if someone has figured out anything to help address this or even if anything can be done.
