Don't know if anyone has seen this, it may have already been posted, so sorry if it's duplicate. I was searching for something and stumbled across this on the net. Sounded interesting so I thought I'd post it.

"Zygote are non poser models." The Zygote models are now poserized.......

I was searching for something too and found them. So I downloaded them but haven't done anything with the figures yet.

This is the web site for Project Human, which is doing the open source models. If I remember correctly, this links to the Zygote stuff as well. Right now Project Human has a male and female figure, and a low-res version of the female figure. The figures come with a decent set of morphs and some texture maps, but beyond that I don't think they have much support yet. I have near future plans to model some clothing for the figures to put out as free stuff.

Project human figures have been added to PhilC's Wardrobe Wizard clothing convertion utility. So they can now have clothing. These are the Sixus1 Media Project Human figures. These are created by Sixus1 Media and are rigged poser figures. Open source. Zygote offers a female and male figure but they are NOT rigged for poser use at this time. 2 different sets of models, 2 different companies, 1 open source agreement and they work together to provide support.

*"Zygote offers a female and male figure but they are NOT rigged for poser use at this time."* That ***isn't correct*** - Z-Man and Z-Woman have been available for about 2 weeks now....

DAD has converted the Zygote models to Poser -

Still fairly basic - but I think a job well done! But they are Open source so anyone can continue to develop them.....

ah, was just a matter of time. Didn't know that.

Okay, "open source", exactly what does it mean? If I tweak the dials or add morph targets, can I sell it? How many would have the obj or cr2 needed to use with the morphs or is it okay to distribute those too? With V3 and M3, almost every knows about and has bought them but these are new so what knid of market would their be for stuff using them unless you can distribute the figures too? I guess what I'm saying is I don't understand all that license lingo. My brain won't compute it... :)

Here;s a bit from the read me for Z-Woman, there is also an Open Source Licence, but to understand it fully go and download one of the Open Source figures and join the project...

***"Z-Woman

This Poser model is being released back into the Open 3D Project resources per the included license. The model is fully Poser ready and rigged for use in Poser6 but should work in Poser5 and PoserPro with slight modifications to the textures. This model is provided unrestricted for use and modification as provided by the Open Source 3D license. Anyone making modifications to this model for redistribution for free or for sale must comply with the Open Source 3D license and show the family tree of this version of the Poser model.

Please honor the spirit of the Open Source movement for 3D models and help make it work for everyone"***
