SO.. is there a room out there somewhere that would even partially fit this description? As it is obvious, I'm not going for something posh, quite the contrary, but I do NEED this room, and before I start modeling it myself I'd like to know if someone had allready done the "dirty work"

Maybe Evanara's Victorian Library in the MP. Would need to be re-textured to look shabby, though.

I've checked the Victorian library, it has some of it, but not really... (Very nice model though) more ideas?

Why don't you also check haunted houses? They often have threadbare/old furniture and may have the right sort of ceiling fixture. BTW, none of the so-called wizards at Hogwarts could recognize a basilisk by its spoor, despite having at least one bestiary in their library. I doubt if any of them know much about the phoenix, either. :roll eyes: Carolly

Good idea with the haunted houses, Hauksdottir! I hadn't thought of that, but you're right, that would absolutely be a good place to look! I even ahve a few of them. Can't remember if they came furnished or not though.

Khai, My point is that the phoenix is a singular bird. One and only one. Next best to eternal, but alone. She gave her name to a particular shade of red-purple and to the Phoenicians. Magnificent bird. That thing in the cage isn't the phoenix. But let's say that JKR hasn't done enough research and that there is more than one phoenix in her world. Dumbledore in that instance wouldn't be dead, and Snapes is nursing an egg somewhere safe. Otherwise, Fawlkes was the phoenix which gave 2 feathers to be used in the wands for Harry and Valdemort to kill each other. (Let's give both sides nukes and enjoy the fireworks!) Carolly

..you've not read them??? you are complaining about them and you've not read them??? yes Fawkes IS the one that gave the feathers for both wands. no mention of any other Phoenix birds has been made. No the one that died could not be saved by Fawkes. the Killing Curse can only be stopped in 2 ways. Harry was defended by one and Voldemort was kind of saved by the other. as to the Baslisk... well... no defence there.. ;)
