THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Question for someone who has B5.5

I am thinking of purchasing 5.5 but need to know one thing first. Does the "Cntr + Tab" and "Cntr + R" functions for full screen rendering work in this version. I do all my rendering, plop rendering and editing (using shortcut keys) in full screen mode and am just used to doing it that way. I am currently using version 5 without the 5.01 patch because the patch seemed to disable this fuction, so was just wondering if it works in 5.5

What is "Ctrl+Tab"? In any normal Windows program that shortcut switches between the windows of the program. I can't find any mention of it in Bryce. Ctrl+R starts rendering without problems. I don't understand. Unless you mean with "full screen" the auto-hide function for the Windows taskbar and the way Bryce broke the taskbar usability? That was fixed.

It's an easter egg. With B5 I can set my document resolution to 1024x768 (which is the same as my monitor resolution) and hit Cntr+Tab and the Bryce interface is gone and I can render/edit in full screen without the interface. Cntr+tab again and go back to interface.

A couple of pictures to show you what I mean. Sorry for the poor quality digital pics, I really need a new camera.

Wow! I didn't know Bryce could do that! Sweet!

Cool! Ctrl-Tab still works under 5.5 (I just tested it on my render). Thanks for that one, I never knew about it before.

And now it's not working... Same render, less than a minute later...

@Mahray. Thats what it would do when I installed the 5.01 patch on 5, sometimes it would work and other times it wouldn't. Looks like Ill hold off until 6 and hopefully it will be fixed.

This easter-egg has always been a problem. Sometimes it works, other times not. They knew about it when they were making 5.5 but I think maybe they're leaving it till version 6 is built.

The full screen trick works just fine on Bryce 4. :) Dunno why they fudged it on later versions. I've heard too many mixed reviews so far, so I'm holding out for v.6.
