Subject: Poser6 bug?

Casette ( ) posted Mon, 25 July 2005 at 3:48 AM · edited Wed, 12 February 2025 at 2:53 PM

Hi folks. I use real photos as reference of poses. Usually I load the photo in Poser as background and I set the character over it moving each part to coincide with the reference source. Sometimes, as Poser preview is too little for details, I work with the same photo in another window of a viewer software (usually ACDSee). Well, this work in Poser5. Click ACDSee, click Poser, click ADCSee... But in Poser6 I find that every time I click the viewer window for move the showed area, when I return to Poser the background dissapear!!! I need to enter in Material Room, click in Background and the pic appears again in Poser. But this system is a hell! Is this a known bug? Any solution? Bug list for e-frontier?

Somebody should write a list of known bugs and then tell e-frontier about it for the next service release.

I think any mod is doing it...

yup the dissapearing background is annoying... the shortcut key is ctrl+b :) hope that helps

As an alternative, paste you picture on a single sided square and scale the square to a usable size.

Mech, thanks. Bored, but it helps Fazzel, good idea but I need to move the camera a lot so the square lose its position. I tried to parented the square with the cam, but bored again. This kind of bugs do that I continue using both Poser5 and Poser6...

Can you not add the background in post, I do that a lot now in P6. I save the image as a png and then add the background in post as a photoshop layer. With IBL in P6 I can match the lights first in the render and then when I add the background in post the lights are right too. Doesn't work for all things but does for most. thefixer, poser coord.

Er... but I dont use it as background... only as a temporal reference, after I got the pose I delete it

Oh sorry, I didn't read it properly, just ignore me! That's an interesting way of doing things, does that approach work well, except for the bug issues of course? thefixer, poser coord.

Of course, but by the moment I do it in Poser5, save the finished pose file and open it again in Poser6. Poser5 dont lose the background in changes of window
