Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 09 3:46 am)
Yep.. Just finished a character set the other day and i noticed this happens - looks like it is a Poser 6 thing - doesn't seem to affect anything - it's just strange.
The supreme irony of life is that hardly anyone gets out of
it alive.

Poser 5 sometimes does similar things. Joints breaking, clothes jumping off, eyes popping out.

Yep, strange things here too, with P4 and P6 (never used P5). Sometimes shifting cameras, hands will move, clothing will un-conform. Just today, with P6, I loaded a skin Mat, and Vicky's right hand started moving around -- even though both "lock hand parts" and "lock figure" were checked.
Yep, that happens to me as well in P6 ... the right leg goes all wierd, but I don't have to click anywhere else for it to go back to normal. All I have to do is move the cursor back over the workspace. Very strange ...

::: Cues spooky music ::: It's haints! Haints I tells ya! Ya gotta sprinkle yer monitor with holy water, ayup. Either that or the model is just tired of standing around waiting for you to get with the rendering already. I mean, really, YOU try just standin' there in one position while someone else decides what your hair is gonna look like or what clothes you're gonna wear. You'd get fidgity too. :P Kate the Ever So Silly
I remember strange things like these happend to me, too. Some years ago (with Poser 5) I had a character with dynamic hair. Sometimes, when I just loaded her, the hair went away - but only in the preview. The render was ok. I asked the CL tech support but couldn't get much help (or no help at all with this special case). Then, just recently with Poser 6, I used the DAZ Tawhak dinosaur with its saddle. To match another figure I scaled it a little. Then, when I twisted the stirrup it moved up and down wildly, but returned to its position after a short time. So, oddities like these keep happening ...
On my systems it consistently happens if IK is turned on. Never with IK turned off. And I have the same weird transparency/invisibility effect. Haven't found a reason yet.

I'll have a character in a zero pose (or any other pose for that matter) and when I load a character injection, the right leg (just the right leg) will kick out of place and when I click anywhere again , the right leg will move back into place. It does not matter what character model it is. Poser 6-SR1, AMD Athlon 64 2800+, 512MB ram.
