The distant pine trees look really good in your picture. I wasn't impressed with them in the store. I guess showing distant trees in closeup isn't a good idea. ;-)

The white automn birch seems nice But when i take a closer look to the leaves they dont seems to be birch leaves(look likes maples ones).I check in a book ...but,please,if someone using VUE have more knowledge about trees take a look and see it.Thanks

See one closer render

Those leaves don't look very good. Not sure if it's because of the render method, but I see alot of artifacts around the leaves.

timoteo1 ( ) posted Mon, 01 August 2005 at 1:36 AM

I think it must be render method. I am getting some of these trees and will try various rendering settings and see if I can't eliminate some of the noise.

martial ( ) posted Mon, 01 August 2005 at 4:26 AM

I know i can make a better render ,I just want to show the leaves, which are not birch leaves according the common birch leaves i have seen in a book and around there. If someone can confirm this, may be Eon will modify it and everybody will have a good birch tree. The trunk seems good and well textured

randym77 ( ) posted Mon, 01 August 2005 at 6:10 AM

You're right. Those don't look like birch leaves. Unless Canada has a birch leaf on their flag. ;-)

I have white birch in my backyard and those leaves definitly don't look like a birch leaf. Look more like a maple leaf. :o)

Yeah the leaf thing has been reported. Another mistake by someone. Hopefully they will fix that to.

martial ( ) posted Mon, 01 August 2005 at 6:09 PM

Thanks everyone.Hope Eon correct this soon!

nanotyrannus ( ) posted Mon, 01 August 2005 at 6:44 PM

Actually this isn't even a new bug, it's been there since eon never bothered to actually change the leaf texture when they put together their bonus plant pack for Vue 4 Pro, so probably what happened was when cornucopia got ahold of it they just assumed the leaf was correct (eon used the maple tree as the base for the springtime birch and forgot to change the texture to a new leaf shape). Just one of many little details that you don't even notice till you get close up (which I usually don't for Vue trees anyway, they may imply that they are highly detailed but for close up plants I've ended up resorting to xfrog trees or some of the really nice freebie ones floating around). Anyway, just a little history on an annoying problem :)
