Subject: A thought for freestuff providers and the community as a whole

Hi all Not sure what anyone else thinks but we have an Artist of the Month, and a Merchant of the month what about having a freestuff provider of the month. Not sure how it would work but I just think that the people that put lots of work into providing free content and even tutorials deserve as much recognition as merchants and artists. Anyway hope that makes sense :) John

We already have that. In fact, there's a link to it above your post (on this very page). It's just not given as much publicity as the AOM and MOM.

I've created textures for different clothing but I don't know how to create the winzip file to get them to go to the right directories and all in the runtime. I'll keep working at it though. I also haven't the faintest idea how to make the thumbnails and such that look so nice inside of Poser.

@Kristta: You can create zip files with free utilities like ZipGenius

Kristta: To make the correct paths in your zip files, make a dummy Runtime folder, for instance on your desktop. In that, you create the folders needed (of it's textures with Mat poses you only need RuntimetexturesKristta and RuntimelibrariesposeKristta (of course WHAT you call the final folder is optional) Then when you're done, assuming you've got winzip installed (who hasn't?) simply rightclick on the Runtime folder you made and from the menu chose "Add to runtime.zip". That will give you a correctly path'ed zip called Runtime.zip. You can then rename it to whatever you like. This is the fastest way. To make the thumbnails: Render a 91x91 picture of whatever you want to make a thumbnail for and save it as a png. Be sure to name it the same as the Mat pose (or whatever) - you can then use P3DO Explorer to make an rsr file from the png if you want. That way it's compatible with P4 without Pro Pack as well :o)

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

Kristta: Mercytoo did a step-by-step tutorial over at Daz - see the link. Just about as clear as anything could be, even I can follow it :-)

Wow, that is easier than I thought it would be. I'm afraid I was making it ten times harder to do than it really is. I'm going to play with this all evening and probably flood the freebie section!
