Subject: Two newbie(ish) questions

  1. Can't import Don or Judy from Poser 5 into Bryce 5 w/o crashing. Once the .obj is loaded, Bryce asks for the textures (ie: DonBodyTexlo.jpg). When I locate the proper texture Bryce blows away. I've tried resaving the texture to different locations with the same result. On the flip side V3 imports fine. 2) Can someone tell me where V3 or M3 hair/eyebrow/eyelash textures and trans mats are? I can't seem to find them anywhere. They're not in the texture folder. I posted question1 in the Bryce forum and no one seems to be having my problem.

Buy Vue if you can afford it. Works ever so much nicer with Poser. Sorry I can't help you with Bryce but I got so disgusted with it that I dumped it.

I was able to import Don into Bryce 5.5 with no problems. Here he is (with James and M2).

@Fazzel Funny, felt the same way 'bout Vue. Couldn't go more than 10 min. w/o it crashing on me. Besides, I've invested too much time in Bryce to switch now.

Got question 1 answered from the guys over in the Bryce forum. Dan_Whiteside *This is a Poser and Bryce bug. Poser doesn't write the complete path to the texture files (that's the error msg cause Bryce can't find it) but Bryce has a bug with manual assignment. A great way to get .OBJ's into any version of Bryce is with the free Grouper app (link).*

Can someone tell me where V3 or M3 hair/eyebrow/eyelash textures and trans mats are? That will depend on which textures they are. Individual artists usually put them in a folder named after themselves - or sometimes after the name of the character. If it's a DAZ texture set, there will be a readme which tells you where to find everything.

DAZ doesn't include any texture maps with V3 and M3. Just like the morph packs, you have to buy the texture packs separately. And if you haven't bought the DAZ map packs yet, don't. (And I just mean the V3 and M3 hi-res map packs they advertise alongside the figures, not character packages.) They are no better than just altering diffuse color. Download some free textures, and if you need more, shop around for character packs.
