Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 20 6:12 am)
I'm not sure if I'm clear on what you are asking, but if your package includes some actual poses (sitting, standing, etc) and you're wondering about whether to combine those with the MAT pose files (used to apply textures & inj/rem morphs), I'd say yes it's easier for me if they're combined. But the actual texture files should go into the "Texture" section of the runtime folder. just my preference

My advice is if you are aiming at catching the PP/P4 market as well as P5/P6 - the less Pose folders you have the better - just remember that in PP/P4 there is a finite limit to folders.....

Packaging doesn't make any difference to me. I always unzip into a folder on my desktop anyway. Then I place the library files in appropriate folders named for the merchant along with the item name. As for texture and geometry files... if they don't come inside a folder, I just dump them into the main texture and geometry folders. I don't like to do that though, because it makes things messy :( So if you are looking for packaging ideas.... to me so long as the textures and geometry files are in a folder, the rest doesn't matter to me :)

I perfer my textures to be in the Materials library as a MC6 and my character morphs to be in the poses.

The real issue here is if it's going to be marketed at RMP, it will have to be packaged as per their guidelines, so the only real question that arises is do you have MAT poses,INJ, REM and Poses in one folder or seperate? As I said above - depends on the market you are looking at and if it is the P4/PP market then keep them together but if you are just going for P5/P6 - it;s a whole different ball game. P5 I'd suggest a Folder named as per the character then sub folders for Pose, INJ, REM & MAT. But for P6 only I would consider using a material collection instead of a MAT file as I find them easier to retain all the material room information.

This will be aimed at all Poser versions. There was a thread where some folks said they preferred everything, poses, Mat, and textures in the same folder. But I've always put textures in the texture library and poses in the pose library. So I think I'll just keep doing it that way. thanks for all the input.

I'm going to be getting a combo texture/character package ready for the MP soon. My question is related to a thread here about peeves. Would it make it easier if I just put all the poses and textures in the same folder? Or would you prefer a pose and a texture folder? Which is best?
