Subject: Anyone have an idea on how to get a download from here....

Go to the front page, then click on the button just underneath where it says JOINNOW.On the sign-up page, the first box is your username (letters and numbers only); the second is your password; the third is your e-mail address. I believe the rest is for setting up a "home page" on the site, similar to the one you can have at Renderosity. Google's Japanese isn't good enough to explain it to me, though. :) I haven't managed to download anything successfully either. No matter how fast I click, I get taken to a registration page even though the site informs me my "cockie" is ok. Don't know how they knew that... But I assume that means I'm logged in. I can see my name on the welcome page, anyway.

I had the same problem when I first found the site. Have you put your user name and password in the two small boxes on the left side of the home page? If you have done that, then try clicking on the download link on the top of the page. that should take you to the download page and then click on an item. I hope this helps.
I've never had any problems downloading from there after signing up. My downloads don't start automatically because I have that disabled in IE so I just click on the link they provide and it works. I also have privacy enabled in Norton and still no problems. Maybe it has to do with what pop-up blocker you're using. In any case, the link they give on the yellow page works much longer than for two seconds.
Figured it out. I had to completely exit from the site and come back in, and sign in that way. The first time, I just backed out to the home page. It didn't complain, but it also didn't give me access. Tip: You aren't "in" until you see your "Journal." Then the free stuff link is under the first thumbnail on the lower right, and the market is the second. Not much in the market yet, but there's a kimono (I think) for Miki in the free stuff. And a nice gaur! M
I have no clue how to login there. All I see are a bunch of question marks. I discovered you don't need to be logged in to download. I followed Villian's advice about clicking the "click me" to start the download, and it worked fine. So no need to fumble around trying to login. Now I'm happy :) I got the item that I was really wanting :)

@Acadia- usually all the ???'s mean you're looking at a web page done in a 'non-Roman-letter' format, like Japanese (usually..;) Some browsers like Firefox have language extensions that will render them into Katakana, Hiragana, and..uh..'the other one'..but that's not usually much help for us occidental tourists..;)

You have to translate by cutting and pasting, because the page you are trying to translate is dynamic, I think. The "one-liner" says that your login/registration failed, if it's the one I translated. I don't use "the other one" any more. And I've abandoned Opera because their security system is so efficient that it won't let me log in most places -- no matter what level of security I set. Not sure if you can paste the '?' gibberish in Google in "the other one" and get a translation. If you are living in an MS World, you may not even be able to see Japanese unless you install the Language Pack, which is way beyond the normal installation. I used "the other one" for a few minutes once, three years ago. Then I spent two days trying to get rid of MSBlast. Since I banned "the other one," I have not had a single virus, Trojan, worm, or other malware attack on five networked computers in three years of 24/7 Internet access. Unpaid endorsement.... M
hehe. I use Mozilla/Firefox and love it. I have the translation extension, along with tabbed browsing, view in IE, download'em all, and some others that I find usefull.

Acadia if you see the link "Click here to download" it is because you are signed in. If you weren't, you would not get to that page. It took me a while to figure it out at the start but now, thanks to Firefox that keeps me logged in whenever I get there, I don't have any problems. IE asks me if I want to be "remembered" but the first thing it does when I go is forget me. ;o))
