Subject: Need Help Finding Leather gloves for M3

Pandorian ( ) posted Thu, 08 September 2005 at 7:00 PM · edited Tue, 28 January 2025 at 4:54 PM

Howdy, I've been looking for a pair of leather gloves for M3 (preferably fingerless) but have only seen them for M1/M2 and V3 (made by Billy-T's Modeling). If anyone can point me in the right direction of where I can find some like what Billy-T's Modeling did for M1/M2 and V3 I would greatly appreciate it. Hell, if not, I'd even settle for a pair of regular gloves for M3 and I'll create a Transparency Map to customize it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks..... Pandorian

There are some for David

BATLAB's Z-Knight clothing set, here in the Marketplace, has a pair of leather gloves for Michael 3. Not sure how well they'd work if transmapped, though.

There are some for David Lourdes also offers a Michael 3 version of that accessory pack.

Ahhh, so they do. Thanks for pointing that out :) Here is the link to the M3 version.

Yeah, I'm familiar with Daz's 19th Century Dandy paks, however, the thought of spending $25 (I'm no longer a Platinum Club Member) for only one item that I would use from that pak (I have absolutely no use nor desire for the rest of the accessories that come with the pak) doesn't really excite me. I also noticed Batlab's Z-Knight clothing set and will probably leave that as a last resort. Thanks everyone for all your help. :) Pandorian

Pandorian, can you wait a day or 2? I have gloves for Vicki, Akio, M1/2 but not for M3 yet, however the new clothing set I'm working on for him will use gloves. I can push them up the chain if you want. mike

Pandorian ( ) posted Thu, 08 September 2005 at 9:59 PM

Mike I can wait a bit, in the meantime, can you toss me a link to the gloves you've made for Vicki, Akio, M1/2?

They're not up (I don't have a web site yet). Here's a picture of the stuff on Aiko, everything but the pants is part of an "Expplorers" set I'm working on. THe gloves work well but I haven't done a very good UVMapp for any of them. Mostly I just use the matrial room in P6. If you want I'll throw the gloves for all 4 figures into a zip and send them to you by the end of the week end. mike

Mystic, are Ghastly's bike gloves for Mike or Dork? I didn't know they were there! Phil's stuff is always good! Problem is I seem to be recreating the wheel alot lately since I forget that some free stuff is already out there. I need Little Dragon's filing system. mike

Pandorian ( ) posted Fri, 09 September 2005 at 4:50 AM

I appreciate the links Mystic-Nights, however, the "Mike's Gloves" they are labeled as Don's gloves.... would they properly fit M3? Also the Bike Gloves appears to be made for M1, would they properly fit M3? In any event I appreciate your help, but I do need them to fit M3 properly. :)

On PhilC's Site there are a pair of gloves for Don and a pair of gloves for mike on down the page. I attached an image of PhilC's Mike Gloves. For the Bike gloves you could probably tweek the dials to get them to fit correctly. I've done that with clothing before. Trav, know what you mean, there is tons of freestuff out there and hard to keep up with all. That's why I created my 3D Directory and put it on my website for everyone to use. I use it more than Google now :)

"Born to be wild" biker set for m3 at Daz has really good gloves.

Pandorian ( ) posted Fri, 09 September 2005 at 3:52 PM · edited Fri, 09 September 2005 at 3:55 PM

Indeed they do, I have them but wanted to see if I could actually find some "fingerless" gloves before I start making transparency maps for them. So far, the ones by Billy T's Modeling are perfect, only they are for M2 and V3, and I need it for M3. Thanks for the suggestion and input, it's appreciated.

To make fingerless, can you not just click on the finger ends and make them invisible?

Pandorian ( ) posted Fri, 09 September 2005 at 4:52 PM

Man do I feel silly, why didn't I think of that?! :O LOL. Your suggestion works well Petunia, however, I will still need to transmap the wrist portion of the glove as making it invisible doesn't leave me with the desired result. Once again, thanks for stating the obvious..... I totally overlooked that option. :)

Your welcome :) Glad to help! I use that trick a lot.. hehehe... 'cause I hate doing transparency maps!

Pandorian Here's a Pic of what I've got done on Mike3's gloves so far, a little clean up on the Cr2's to get rid of the excess groups and their done. THere is a fingerless pair and a full fingered pair, as shown. Oh, I made a mistake, in that I have gloves for Don... not Mike 1/2 and Aiko, already made (like these only wrist length, with full fingers). If you still want them I should have them zipped up sometime tommarrow. mike

Pandorian ( ) posted Fri, 09 September 2005 at 6:29 PM

Mike you are a helluva guy, I appreciate that. I don't use Don or Aiko at all, so all I really need is the gloves for M3. Don't rush it on my account, continue on your regular pace with them, and when they are done, I would DEFINITELY appreciate them being made available to me. Thanks Mike for being so helpful and considerate! :) Pandorian

Couldn't you cheat? Do a render with the gloves on. Then a render without the gloves on. Then use your graphic program to crop the part of the arm you want, and overlay it onto the image with the glove? I do that all of the time to fix clothing that pokes through skin, or props that I can't fully position properly and they dig into the skin when I have the angle the way I want it. Sometimes you need to smudge in the edges, but if you magnify enough and work with the right opacity, density and hardness, the edges aren't noticable at all. I'm off to get my foot xrayed. I think I broke it the other day and have been putting off getting it checked out. Message edited on: 09/09/2005 18:39

Yep Acadia, I could and normally would cheat, if it were a one-time, or seldomly used render or application. However, I intend to use these gloves quite frequently so it's basically a choice between creating "one" transparency map, or going to Photoshop each and every time I use these glove props and do some sort of postwork. Thanks for the suggestion though, I appreciate it. And I hope everything goes well with your foot.

Acadia, Well ouch, you sound like my husband who walked around all day on his before finally I made him go get it in a cast. It won't heal like that ya know.

Letterworks ( ) posted Fri, 09 September 2005 at 8:50 PM

Acadia, I hope all goes well with your foot. I'm home at this time with a torn knee, I see the surgeon on Monday, so i feel for you. Pandorian, I should finish these up by tomarrow and send you a zip with the gloves and the (basic) uv maps I made for them. I've bent tehm around a bit and they seem to hold together well but concider this a beta test, if you have any problems le me know and I'll try to make corrections. mike

Thanks a million Mike, yer the man! Hope every goes okay with your knee surgery, I know first hand how it feels, I've had three knee surgeries myself. All of them were torn menisci. One was a surgical repair (sew the tear back up) and the other two were arthroscopic laser surgeries..... all the result from my old goalie/hockey days.

Man do I miss playing hockey..... :(
Well, at least now I got poser and guys like you to help out. :)

Well, it seems I broke it in 2 or 3 places. The doctor said it was hard to tell with all of the bruising (the top and bottom of my foot and a few of my toes are literally black and blue), but she is sure of 1 place, and 90% sure of the second place, and the 3rd place is iffy due to the bruising in the area, but she thinks she saw an "abnormality". I have a splint on it now and I go back for a cast on Monday. By the time I was seen, the cast room was closed. I went to an Urgent Care facility instead of a regular ER. I should have gone to the ER... but oh well. At least it's splinted and I have something more than Tylenol plain for the pain, which has been overwhelming. Thank you for your well wishes :)

OUCH! Just outta curiosity Acadia, if you don't mind my asking, what were you doing when you broke your foot? I mean to break it in 2 or 3 places? That's something I definitely want to side-step (no pun intended) if I can. :)

I hope you feel better soon and also hope you have a speedy recovery Acadia :)

Acadia, I know for a fact it won't be really that speedy. (Feet are really hard to mend) But I am hoping that it heals really well so you don't go limping around afterward! Also, a place with no snow and ice for your duration in cast would be nice. And, ya know that cast is gonna be itchy after a while don't ya?
