Hi All Just started work on this image with Jessi but I cant get over the large ugly hands, also note the kinks in the fingers that I can't remove without splaying the fingers. I am hoping that someone can help who has found a way or improving there look without cutting off and using a pair of V3s ;-)

Regards

Keith

Is this regular Jessi? I would use Jim Burton's Glamorous Jessi, her joints are vastly improved over the original and she is cheap to buy.

I think there may have been an update to her or something but I am not sure. I really don't pay that much attention to her. Glamourous Jessie has better joints but she is also a lot different than the normal Jessie.

Was the pose shown created by a "pre-made" pose? I've noticed some very bad joint distortions when using the poses for Jessi that came with P6. Some poses have very odd values for joint rotation, bend, and side slide.

If found that it's often faster to do all of the posing manually - the clean-up of the distorted joints can take quite a while. I'll add another vote of confidence for Jim Burton's Glamorous Jessi joints (at Content Paradise). They are a BIG improvement over the default Jessi.

Yes, Jessi's mongoloid hands have been discussed in the past. You can resize them manually, but the joints are still a mess. I haven't bought Glam Jess, but from what IU have seen she is vastly improved over the default. The only reason I haven't purchased her is that I cannot use her in the Face Room, otherwise, she would be a top priority purchase for me.

You will find that in all the P6 figures, You should try Kate, she's even worse. JP's are not a strong point with CL/eF even if they say there is nothing wrong with them like with Miki. They must have different figure than the rest of us. Glamorous Jessi work fine. Surprise, surprise, amazing how well something can work if done right.

By all accounts, Glam Jessi has a really great joint setup compared to the out-of-the-box Jessi. I haven't delved into the innards of figure creation and joint setups yet, but I've been wondering would it be possible to improve the joints on the default Jessi without actually changing her body shape so drastically? I know a lot of people love Glam Jess, but she's just way too skinny for my personal taste. I'd love a copy of regular Jess but one that bends better.

Hi All thanks for your replies and help
I have the Poser 6 update and yes this is a pre-made pose
I shall try posing manually to se if this helps.
Plus I have just downloaded Glamorous jessi so I hope I she also takes my genital add on
Well thanks again its off to play ;-)

Keith

Glamorous Jessi shouldn't be any skinnier than stock Jessi. I actually increased her waist a tad, if I remember. Her arms are a lot thinner though, she doesn't lift weights like regular Jessi. Her legs are thinner from the front, but deeper. Here they are side-by-side, same pose, no textures, judge for youself. She is awful, awful expensive though, you wouldn't want to buy her unless you were really sure. ;-)

Her is a view from the back, you can see her thicker waist (mostly thicker front-to-back) here, I think.

Notice the difference in shoulder blades, knees, elbows, feet and butt, too. ;-)

Glam Jessi seems a bit better but still doesn't cut it for me. I got Poser 6 though haven't worked with it yet but from what I have seen and read Jessi is definately nothing I would want to work with. I recall Vicki1 had similar finger joint problems when she was first released and...I think...Jager released a fix and then DAZ did too. Seems a drag someone that offers an item that is obviously defective for this kind of rendering refuses to see the problem when confronted with so many complaints and just fix it. I won't be using jessi when i finally install the new app. Aside from her hands her body just seems more toon than realistic human and and her feet are awful too. Give me V2/3 any time. Even Judy was better...I think.

Well Jim I decided to not go out for a month and use my beer money to buy your way to expensive glamorous Jessi ;-) I quickly converted the files with your excellent read me and have had a quick peek and on first impressions am very pleased and will soon get working on the idea's I have in mind. The only down side is the Arduino Hi res genitals will not add onto this figure :-( To Shante's comment thanks for your input, both V2 + V3 have there good points but like models in general they are suited to different types of work and taste Regards Keith

For the large hand size I just scaled Jessi's hands. I doubt that would look right in close up renders, though. Those offset fingers are something I've seen on Vicki, Stephanie, etc.. always after applying a pose. I made a handfix pose for V3 to fix it.. maybe someone with some spare time can translate it to Jessi. Here's my handfix pose for V3: { version { number 4.01 } actor rHand:1 { channels { translateX xtran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateY ytran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateZ ztran { keys { k 0 0 } } } } actor rThumb1:1 { channels { translateX xtran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateY ytran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateZ ztran { keys { k 0 0 } } } } actor rThumb2:1 { channels { { keys { k 0 0 } } translateY ytran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateZ ztran { keys { k 0 0 } } } } actor rThumb3:1 { channels { translateX xtran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateY ytran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateZ ztran { keys { k 0 0 } } } } actor rIndex1:1 { channels { translateX xtran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateY ytran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateZ ztran { keys { k 0 0 } } } } actor rIndex2:1 { channels { translateX xtran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateY ytran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateZ ztran { keys { k 0 0 } } } } actor rIndex3:1 { channels { translateX xtran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateY ytran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateZ ztran { keys { k 0 0 } } } } actor rMid1:1 { channels { translateX xtran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateY ytran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateZ ztran { keys { k 0 0 } } } } actor rMid2:1 { channels { translateX xtran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateY ytran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateZ ztran { keys { k 0 0 } } } } actor rMid3:1 { channels { translateX xtran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateY ytran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateZ ztran { keys { k 0 0 } } } } actor rRing1:1 { channels { translateX xtran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateY ytran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateZ ztran { keys { k 0 0 } } } } actor rRing2:1 { channels { translateX xtran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateY ytran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateZ ztran { keys { k 0 0 } } } } actor rRing3:1 { channels { translateX xtran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateY ytran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateZ ztran { keys { k 0 0 } } } } actor rPinky1:1 { channels { translateX xtran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateY ytran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateZ ztran { keys { k 0 0 } } } } actor rPinky2:1 { channels { translateX xtran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateY ytran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateZ ztran { keys { k 0 0 } } } } actor rPinky3:1 { channels { translateX xtran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateY ytran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateZ ztran { keys { k 0 0 } } } } actor lHand:1 { channels { translateX xtran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateY ytran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateZ ztran { keys { k 0 0 } } } } actor lThumb1:1 { channels { translateX xtran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateY ytran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateZ ztran { keys { k 0 0 } } } } actor lThumb2:1 { channels { translateX xtran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateY ytran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateZ ztran { keys { k 0 0 } } } } actor lThumb3:1 { channels { translateX xtran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateY ytran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateZ ztran { keys { k 0 0 } } } } actor lIndex1:1 { channels { translateX xtran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateY ytran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateZ ztran { keys { k 0 0 } } } } actor lIndex2:1 { channels { translateX xtran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateY ytran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateZ ztran { keys { k 0 0 } } } } actor lIndex3:1 { channels { translateX xtran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateY ytran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateZ ztran { keys { k 0 0 } } } } actor lMid1:1 { channels { translateX xtran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateY ytran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateZ ztran { keys { k 0 0 } } } } actor lMid2:1 { channels { translateX xtran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateY ytran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateZ ztran { keys { k 0 0 } } } } actor lMid3:1 { channels { translateX xtran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateY ytran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateZ ztran { keys { k 0 0 } } } } actor lRing1:1 { channels { translateX xtran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateY ytran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateZ ztran { keys { k 0 00 } } } } actor lRing2:1 { channels { translateX xtran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateY ytran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateZ ztran { keys { k 0 0 } } } } actor lRing3:1 { channels { translateX xtran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateY ytran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateZ ztran { keys { k 0 0 } } } } actor lPinky1:1 { channels { translateX xtran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateY ytran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateZ ztran { keys { k 0 0 } } } } actor lPinky2:1 { channels { translateX xtran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateY ytran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateZ ztran { keys { k 0 0 } } } } actor lPinky3:1 { channels { translateX xtran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateY ytran { keys { k 0 0 } } translateZ ztran { keys { k 0 0 } } } } Just save it as handfix.pz2 and you can use it for V3. (Probably other Mill figures, too.. I never looked at the hand actor names for those figures.) Please feel free to adjust it for Jessi or whomever. Distribute, put it in your products, whatever you like.

I seem to remember that stock Jessi's finger Joint parameters weren't set up all that well... ;-) I basicly had to redo tham all, something I didn't especially want to do. I don't remember seeing an "offset" problem like Victoria 1 had, some of that was due to a Poser work-around that DAZ (actually Zygote then, I guess) put in and then removed, but the original was in a lot of th ehand poses, so when they were used it made the offset go the other way, acting like a virus, in effect. Anyway, GJ has a different hip mesh vertex count (due to her pubic hair overlays), so she can't take stock Jessi morphs there (or in most of her body parts, too).
