Hey Jock, I have no idea why it's doing this. Computers have a mind of their own sometimes. Why not start over again, picking the files from their original folders and putting them in the burning software directly instead of into a new folder. Once you get them on CD you can hopefully delete all of those other folders the computer made on it's own. My daughter tried downloading and installing SP2 last week and it screwed up her hard drive so bad she had to replace it. The boot sectors got destroyed so all her stuff was lost. Sometimes these things just do what they want to do.
probably hidden file is thumbs.db... is just a system file... nothing bad but normal! sorry... but i'm not sure to have understand your problem... have your antivirus and antispyware updated?
Have you tried a hard reset of your computer? Power down completely and leave it off before about a minute, then boot from scratch again. This can sometimes sort out some problems. I agree with mayday142, the hidden file is probably the normal thumbs.db I must say I have never come across this problem before. Simon
can you not simply do a search in hidden files?.. i would use a name -say of a title or one of your works then do a search that includes the hidden files... if not go into the file of windows itself and do another search ...or bring up all images... do you use xp?... good luck to you kimmers!

This statement makes it sound like your computer has some kind of virus to me: *"Then I went to the folder on my hard drive to open it up and it started to put itself into another folder each time. Now it in ten folders deep and I even change the name to "aim" let say; but it will make a new folder on it on with the org. name "folder4" I ndid this four times but it doing it still"* Viruses are know to replicate themselves in multiple folders/directories to make them harder to get rid of. Did you use the Windows "built in" cd burning functions or something like Easy CD Creator or Nero? Most CD burning software does not remove the original files from your harddrive. You might be able to get the files back using a file recovery application. The link is a google search for freeware version...might be worth a look a some of these.I got xp and I had my comutor off all day. I did run spyware and virse too. nothing works. I will try that link. tomorrow it 10pm now and I need to get ready for bed and go to work tomorrow lo. I will check the file to see if it is hidden or not. some one told me to copy it to some place elies and it may open I see about this also tommor. but thanks every body

So this I did for it was easy when he told me how. kind of like what L8RDAZE showing on hiden files thanks L8RDAZE So I whent and click on the folder and it open up lol. I saw my files and another folder with the same name . So I check out the properties of this folder without click on it and it was empty. So I deleted this folder then copy my files to another folder one by one. Then I got out and check on the copy files and they work fine. So I deleted the folders and files that keep on copying them selfs into another folder. Then I when and change the mouse setting back to the double click and every thing fine lol
