Subject: Converting custom morphs into injections?

steerpike ( ) posted Sat, 17 September 2005 at 12:22 PM · edited Wed, 08 January 2025 at 8:10 PM

I have a set of custom (ie. non-DAZ) V3 head morphs which I've created. If/when I distribute them, I'd like to do so as an injection morph rather than a morph target which needs a separate OBJ file (if you see what I mean).

I have a couple of sets - ApoJumalia and Kielo - that take this approach. How's it done? Any solutions or links would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Have you looked over the pz2 files from those sets, and compared them to Daz injection pz2? It might give an idea of how the people did it.

I think a lot of people use Injection Magic (for sale at DAZ). It's PC-only, though, and from what I can tell, not terribly user-friendly.

modus0 - yes; the PZ2s call scripts in custom subfolders of the Libraries folder in the same way as the DAZ PZ2s. It's what those scripts are, and how to put them together, that I'm looking to find out.

Also have a look at Pozers Little Helper by Staale in the poser freestuff. It's still in beta (Version 6) but worked pretty well when I gave it a shot back in beta 4.

Yes - Pozers Little Helper looks like it'll do the trick. Thank you.

Pdxjims and Dodger use a system of INJ that is superior in my book. Might want to look them up and inquire. It is quite elegant.

I don't recommend Injection Magic. Very flaky. Re Pozers Little Helper, doesn't that only work for V3 ?

You can do it with a text editor. 1) Save your figure with the morph as a character (cr2) 2) Open the saved cr2 in a text editor 3) Search for your created morph (if is a head morph in actor head) 4) Copy starting from targetgeom until the begining of the next targetgeom 5) create a new file with { version { number 4.01 } actor head { channels { 4) paste here your copied morph and change the targetGeom name targetGeom PBMDC_10 (your must use some empty PBMXXX) NOTE*) you must change your morph tittle to something as above. { name head_morph_xxxx (your morph name) hidden 0 interpStyleLocked 0 indexes xxx numbDeltas xxx deltas { ---- ---- } } 6) Add then } } } 7) Save the file as *.pz2 in the pose library 8) It's done, every time you apply the pose to the a character you new morph is added to the character.

Stupidity also evolves!

Thanks to all for your help. PLH is indeed V3-only but that isn't a problem as I'm only working with V3 at the moment. I'd guessed there had to be a text-based solution as well, but I couldn't work out what it might be.
