Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 21 6:06 am)
Creating plugins that don't need Poser but use the content. (?) ;)

foot. C++ makes it harder, but when you do, you blow your whole leg

I'm tempted to say "For about 8 hours a day..." More seriously, for educational courseware and for my animated blog.

Apart from developping content for it, I have used Poser people as virtual mannnequins for Helmets in our motorcycle catalog and website. Our photographer had snapped all the helmets sitting on awful white styrofoam heads, there was not time to shoot with a real guy, so Michael substituted quite nicely at a moment's notice!

It's a hobby for me. I render figures and upload them to my site as tubes for the graphic community to use for whatever they want. Sometimes I use what I create to make a pictures (not often), and sometimes I'll get a web job that requires some "original" art, so I use Poser for that. But it's mostly a hobby and a nice... and sometimes frustrating... way to spend time being creative.
"It is good to see ourselves as
others see us. Try as we may, we are never
able to know ourselves fully as we
are, especially the evil side of us.
This we can do only if we are not
angry with our critics but will take in good
heart whatever they might have to
say." - Ghandi

To add to destro75, to make sure that any "spare money" in my life is squandered on Poser content. Who needs food?

Mostly as a hobby. Also for a visualizing scenes and characters for my short stories.

Caution: just a hobbyist

I see Poser from a photographic behind-the-camera standpoint, where a professional model will cost $200 an hour and take at least two hours to understand a pose. And then want a drink of water (sorry, stoli) and reappear two hours later. Looking drunk. I have given up on photography. Of live models at least. No contracts to sign. Ok, she does porn too. But mostly she can hold a pose without getting too drunk. I love live models, just not when I'm telling them to pose for me.
Live models?
Try having them agree to be at a certain place at a certain time -- and then not bothering to show up. After preparations and time spent on the photographer's part getting ready for the shoot.
One thing that I'll say for V3. She never misses an appointment.
Well I wouldn't let on that they are prefered over live models, since the next thing you know Nestor Sextone will hear of it then get V3 and the others to join the union and protest over the abuse they've had to suffer.

Someone came to my house while I was working on a product and asked, "But what do people who buy your products use them for?" And I said, Art....and couldn't think of anything else so thought that this would be a fun question to ask. What do you use Poser for?
