While waiting for Xcode to compile, I wrote a little Wacro script to import and set up displacement maps created by the new [ZBrush exporter plugin](http://206.145.80.239/zbc/showthread.php?t=029084). Maps exported as D88 (16 bit displacement encoded in a color image) can now be used in Poser 6 with full 16bit precision without having to hand-wire a single material room node.

Thanks go to Stefan Morell for providing sample images (I don't own ZBrush, donations are welcome).

Cool. Thanks, Stewer. Any idea if it would be difficult to make a similar script for the upcoming version of Silo? I'm not a programmer, so forgive me if I'm way off base. Silo's displacement painting looks pretty snazzy, but I'm wondering if it'll be necessary to 'convert to polys' or something in order to make use of it in Poser.

I guess we'll see once Silo 2.0 is out - I have no idea how it will export displacements.

Online Now!

Way cool! Thanks! I've had ZBrush for a couple of weeks now, but haven't done any displacement maps with it yet. I guess now is a great time to start.

BastBlack, it should work on both Mac and Windows, I don't think I used any platform-specific calls.

BastBlack,.the ZBrush exporter hasn't been released for Mac users yet.it's supposed to be a couple days away
