I am trying to apply a motion blur to a 4 bladed prop on an airplane. What I have come up with so far is not very good. Any ideas ? Vue Infinite and a .3ds model.

Why not replace the prop with a 2D plane. Of course, you'll need to draw the blurry prop in a 2D application. This option gives you a lot more control.

Sittingblue is right-

See this helicopter tail prop link- it's a trans-map!

Most Paint software has a "Radial Blur" filter. These are
ideal for making spinning props. Just paint out the prop
in still motion and then apply your Radial Blur to the amount of spin you want. Apply Yellow TIPS if you want those on the ends of the spinning blades...

...And if you want something really FAST and EASY- just copy and use the prop on the P-51 that comes with Vue...

This reply is an edited repost from another message I made in the vue forum: To achieve an effect like this (see piccy) is really easy. I'm using the Vanishing point Executive helicopter as an example, and the EH Blade Blur Props (avaliable from freestuff here) as it's the right scale. Import the heli. Edit the grouped object and remove the top rotor. Make an alpha plane, scale it to what looks good and use the freebie blade props as the image source. Simple as that, but only for for static renders. Animation is more tricky because it doesn't seem possible to have an animated object within a group and then animate the group. I'm using Vue 4 [standard].

Pinky - you left the lens cap of your mind on again.
