Subject: URGENT! Experienced MODELLERS needed!

I am writing this message to all experienced modellers who visit this forum. We at 3dSaraCreations, are in DIRE need of experienced modellers. We want to release 3 mega projects yearly so that gives the modellers at least one full month to come up with the model(s) they select for each project.

We create FREEBIES for Sara (and other models, even more so now that WW exists). I know, we're not making any money out of this venture but think a second: Is making money the only goal you can have in life?

So please, be generous and join us at 3dSC so we can continue to offer those wonderful freebies to the Poser community. As it is, our main modeller, NeilP, will be so exhausted he'll have to quit.

It is very rewarding when you see messages here and there telling how wonderful our freebies are. I honestly don't think you can get that kind of feeling when you sell your stuff. ;o)

So please join us TODAY at 3dSaraCreations

Thanks.

wolf359: I did not mean it to sound like I am condemning the persons who create models to make money. Just that to join a team in creating one (or more if you want) free model to go into our projects once every 4 months or so would be a nice addition to your workload. Sorry if it sounded depreciative, it was in no way my intention. Thanks for the good wishes. ;o) Fugazi1968: I've asked Neil to contact you about this as he is our chief modeller and I do not model so I could not answer myself.

This is the way we work at 3dSC, in case it might put some ease on you... 1. We vote (all members who want to participate) for the theme of our next project. 2. We make a list of the models that will be required for that theme. 3. All members look around the web and everywhere to find reference material to help the modellers. 4. Neil makes a list of the models needed and post it in the Modelling forum. 5. The modellers select the model(s) they want to create out of that list. 6. They have one full month to create their chosen model(s). 7. Our testers' team test the models thorougly in all versions of Poser and in DS. 8. If there is something wrong, I contact the modeller and ask him/her to fix it if possible, if not, Neil looks at it and tries to fix it for them. 9. When the model makes it through our testing procedures, it goes to the texture makers' team for texturing. 10. The texture makers have one full month to provide textures for our models. 11. The textures are all tested by our testers' team. Same rules apply as for the models. 12. When everyone else's job is done, I take charge of the packing procedure and I release the project. So in fact, all we ask of our modellers is to model at least one model per project, at 3 projects a year, and they have a full month to model one. They don't have to create textures for their models, all they have to do is UV map them the easiest way possible for our texture makers. And there is lots of help too for modellers, testers and texture makers. The models become the property of 3dSC as a whole and are distributed exclusively by 3dSC. One other thing: we do not offer props. Only figures but they don't have to be moving figures, this is just to simplify the mat pose creation. Thanks BillyGoat for the vote of confidence. ;o))

I'm not a modeller, but isn't it risky letting them only have a month? We've seen in the past that when people are on a tight deadline, they may take shortcuts (e.g. Renda, Alexa, et al.).

Francemi ( ) posted Mon, 10 October 2005 at 8:35 PM

No, it is not risky at all. Our models are not full figure persons like Renda and Alexa, but either clothes or accessories for the theme we choose for Sara. So far, so good. In fact, the Christmas mega project was done from A to Z (including packing and release) in 34 days! We launched 3dSC on November 6, 2004 and released the project on December 10, 2004! Now THAT was a tight schedule! We made it though and nothing came back as not working. It helps a lot to have a team of testers and a team of texture makers on hand. ;o)

I am sorry that groingrinder has not been able to spend more time at 3DSC. I haven't had time to work on my own projects, but I would really like to come back and help. I found it to be very rewarding creating freebies for Sara. I soooo wanted to see a theme like Geologist Sara, or Aviator Sara, or Wild West Sara.

Free men do not ask permission to bear arms!!

Well then UVDan, get back there NOW and you'll be happy! ;o)
