I actually prefer the monochrome version, believe it or not. The top version's colors are pretty, but there is a same-ness to it that makes it less interesting, for some reason, to me. The middle version, whereas it's actually pretty nice, too, looks to me like it was shot on a day with a partial solar eclipse or something. It is less flat than the first, but it seems dim to me. The black and white, though, speaks to me. I think the beach in the foreground picks up more sparkle in this version, and the waves seem to have more depth, too.
As is always the case, personal preferences rule, lol. What is great to one is so-so to another. I don't suppose there is a definitive answer usually. That being said, when i find myself in this situation, i usually opt for the desaturated look. A nice compromise on an issue that would solve itself if it really made a difference i think!!! Lee

I like the open feel of this beach image but am not sure what version works best. Full color, destaturated color, or B&W? The larger version has better detail, but you get the idea from these. Thoughts? Thanks! --KortKort Kramer - Kramer Kreations
