Subject: Like Vue, Really Dislike E-On

Don't know if anyone else has had this problem with e-on...

I tried to preorder the Infinite upgrade 3 times for $150 prior to its release. Each order seemed to go through but I always received a "failed" email from e-on, the special ended. Pissed at e-on and didn't want to fork out the $199 upgrade price for months. Just got the Vue bug again and decided to pay the extra $50. Tried ordering it today but kept getting the error that my valid pro 4 serial is invalid (I did enter it correctly). I really dread having to deal with e-on. I order products globally every month and never have any problems except with e-on.

Well.... I can understand your frustration. But... if I had tried to order 3x and it failed all 3x, I would have called OR e-mailed E-On about the problem.

Sometimes E-On is great, sometimes they're not. I'd have to say that they're an average company. I wish you better luck.

They do seem to have quirkier software and website than some. I would have done the suggested, as well. After the second try...other measures should be tried. Sorry for the bad luck.

No need to think outside the box....

Use the Feedback option (frontpage-> support-> last item on the page) on their site to contact E-on, worked for me, all replies within 1-2 days.

I agree with the feedback option on their site. Worked for me too. On the other hand e-on's politics really seems strange to me sometimes. They look like they are a bit event driven. With their plans to go to the professional market, they seem to get into a lot of stress. As they fixed most of the problems with Vue now, they really make a nice software, though their pricing is a bit high I think. Maybe they could get more money and sell more copies, if they lower them. Still not decided to sidegrade from Vue 5 Esprit to Infinite. Love this eco system, but Infinite is expensive for a hobby.

I know E-on try their best, and they have done much work to improve Vue the last couple of months. Infinite is designed for the Pro market, but to be honest, if you use Pro software day in day out, then you realise just how much more work E-on have still to do with Infinite.
If I was to put a support ticket into E-on after each bug I find, I would be spending an awful large amount of time putting support tickets in. Most bugs aren't complete show stoppers, but I didn't purchase Vue to be a beta tester...I get rewarded enough by another software company to do that while I work.

One thing that does concern me about E-on politics. They advertise a pro level software, but seem to take shortcuts. Look at the guys over at C3D, they do a wonderful job, but it is my understanding that they are not paid for what they do. They are the face of E-on and should be paid accordingly for it IMHO.
The inner sanctum of E-on seems very secretive to me, maybe a bit more openess and apologies for mistakes they have made (and explaining what they are doing, so the customer doesn't have to put up with similiar issues again) will go some way to calming peoples nervousness and maybe even attract more money into the developement pot, so this exciting software can get even greater.

Next problem with this store is that it doesn't work with all Visa cards. My visa card was not good enought for them (without special reason). It worked in DAZ store but not in E-on.

I take it you've complained about this in the Store forum at C3D or in the tech support at E-on - whichever it was that refused your card?

megalodon, I did fill out and submit the e-on support form a number of times during the first order and including yesterday when I tried to place the last order. I'm waiting for their response.

In the past I purchased vue 4 pro from e-on along with other products they offer without any problem. I'm seriously thinking about buying the Lightwave/Vue package from Newtek. One reason, just so I don't have to deal with the e-on website anymore.

Cheers, ordering from e-on is a 7-step process. I hope their registration process is down to only 1-step.
