Well, to me it seems that the original lip texture is painted so that it shows up not only in the lips part but also in the head skin part, so because the new lip texture is smaller and not the same shape, the original will show up underneath it. Not sure if this is the case but it has happened to me before.
That's the weird thing, the new lips are the exact same size and shape as the originals. In fact, they are the same lips, lifted off my psd file that I use to create the texture, which is done in layers. Each part has it's own layer. This is just really strange. Eye Maps work great, but for some reason, the lips just don't want to cooperate...Oh well, back to the drawing board :o)
