I have no idea what is going on with Python in Poser6? I can't get Real Skin Shader to work. It ignores all materials. RSS works fine in Poser5. I tried some of PhilC's and even Ockham's scripts, and I keep getting errors, or nothing happens. This really sucks, especially since I want to get Occlusion Master, and the Poser6 Realism kit. Perhaps the Python wizzards can help me. TIA, -The Starkdog

If nothing at all is happening even on the simpler scripts, most likely it's an installation problem or even something corrupt in Poser.exe itself. Simple scripts usually don't use any of that extra equipment in the DLLs or LIB folder. What sort of error messages are you getting?

just a thought.. before using the skin shader are you selecting the main light first? if you don't select that then you will get an error. J

I've had this issue reported once or twice. Reinstalling Poser fixed the problem in all cases. Also, if you have separately installed python, it may be conflicting with PoserPython, however in this case it gives a TCL error.

This is the error I'm getting while using PhilC's Clothroom Presets script. Once the pants are clothified, I go to the Mat room and apply the material. A python script is supposed to tweak the dynamics settings, but I keep getting this error when applying the mat and script. -Starkdog

Are you sure you have the scripts installed into the correct folders. Mine certainly contain preset paths in them. That last error message is indicative that Poser Python can not find the required file. The ClothRoomPresets.py files need to be in Runtime:Python:poserScripts:PhilC:Cloth Room Presets

Thanks PhilC, I had it in my Downloads/Runtime/Python/PoserScripts.... directory. I put it in the right spot and it works GREAT!! I keep forgetting that you put specific paths in your scripts. -Starkdog

Hey Starkdog...when I looked real close at what you have selected in your Poser window, I didn't see a light selected. I use the RealSkin Shader all the time. It will only work if you have the figure selected and your main light. Did you have a light selected, renamed with something starting with "M"? Take a look! jaebea

Hi Agape, I had re-named one of my lights to Main. I selected Terai-Yuki and the Main light, and ran RSS. For some reason, it gives me errors as noted in the top pic. It doesn't matter which light I select, even if it is the strongest light, I still get these errors. BTW, what is the newest version of RSS? Mine is 1.1 Perhaps this could be a problem? -Starkdog

The script is ignoring meateials Head and Body - since you haven't updated it to work with Terai Yuki 2. See above link for details.

Face_Off, Thanks for the info about adding material zones to the script. Everything is working fine now. My Python problems are finally solved. -Starkdog
