I have just recieved LW8 + the free copy of VueI5, its a bit more of a mouthfull than plain old Vue4.
Are there any good books on VueI5 about?
I wanna realy see whats under the hood of this thing.

I know there is a 2 DVD set for those who bought the LW+V5I bundle, check E-on's website, and another one coming out soon from Rick Shrand, check Cornucopia.

I don't think there are any Vue 5i books (yet). Seems very likely someone will come up with one eventually though.

I know Rick Schrand's DVDs should be out shortly; he's a longtime user of Vue, and I think the lessons on his set will be excellent. I'm looking forward to them!

Has there ever been any Vue books period....??? I know a few years ago there was a rumour of a Vue 4 book but it was a vapour book...

I'm sure that's the one that Rick was originally working on, Kenmo. It was about 3 years ago. I think he got ill and wasn't able to complete it so it was never published. But I've heard great things about his DVD set. I have the Asile set, it's very beginner-oriented, for folks that are new to Vue, period; there wasn't anything about the function editor and not much at all about procedural terrains. They may be publishing another set more geared towards the complex stuff in Infinite, but I don't know.

For folks new to 3D in general, Susan Kitchen's old Bryce books are still a good buy, imo. The majority of the information really applies across the board and isn't necessarily Bryce-specific; the stuff that is, you can figure out how to do it in Vue without much problem. You can probably still get it at Amazon. (edited for typos)

I have Susan Kitchen's Bryce book...it rocks...

Is this DVD set applicable to Vue 4 or 5...???

Also if he was too sick to publish a book, how did he manage a DVD set...???

I think the DVD set is mostly geared towards 5, with a lot of time spent in Infinite, but I haven't seen the details yet. And he was working on the book about 3 years ago, so he's better now, lol! He's been working on the DVD set since this past August.

I expect Rick's DVDs will be in the e-on store as soon as they're released as well.

How good is the Vue Infinite manual? Another bundle purchaser, so I have the LW manual in paper but the VI one on CD only (ugh!). It is available from the E-on store, but it's not cheap after blowing a lot of money on the software already this month.
